Hello everyone! Are you ready for another "Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge"? 🌟✨
Every week, Splinterlands is posting a battle challenge for everyone to showcase their cards, strategies and luck in battle. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newbie, there's something for everyone in this battle challenge. Join us on Splinterlands and become part of the legendary saga of the Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! ✨🔮

For this week's challenge, we will showcase the 'Going the Distance' ruleset, where only units with ranged attacks may be used. Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup. Certain monsters and summoners can excel under this ruleset. Let's take a closer look at the card I used to win in this ruleset and how it contributed to my team's victory.

Going the Distance
Only units with ranged attacks may be used.
Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup.

Battle Configuration

For this battle, here are the specific rulesets and a mana cap to consider:

Rulesets:
Going the Distance: Only Monsters with Ranged attack may be used in battles.

Mana Cap: 49
Active Elements: Fire, Water, Earth

Strategy: I think the best summoner to use in this ruleset is Ilthain that grants Return Fire ability to allied monsters. And since only ranged attack monsters are allowed to use, they will sure suffer from the return damage. However, since Life is not in the list of available elements, I just need to make sure to use monster/s with Close Range ability and/or use a monster with multiple attack aside from ranged attack.

Summoner: Pembrook Nymph

  • This summoner gives all allied monsters with +1 Health and allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle.

1st Position: Venari Marksrat
-- This card has the Martyr ability that when it died, it will boost all the stats of adjacent monsters. In this case, it will buff Gargoya Devil.

2nd Position: Gargoya Devil.
-- This card has the Close Range ability that it can also attack even if its in the first position.

3rd Position: Drybone Raider
-- This card also has melee attack aside from its ranged attack. So if ever it will move to the first position, it can still do some damage to the enemy.

4th Position: Edith Emberstar
-- This is my gladiator card and has 5 massive attack power to surely do massive damage to the enemy.

5th Position: Swamp Spitter
-- This is my support card. It has the Repair ability that can repair armor of allied monsters whos armor has taken the most damage.

Let's Rumble

The enemy used a level 1 summoner, which is Brewmaster Abraxas and used a combination of Fire and Earth element monsters. The enemy also deploys monsters with Close Range, however, these are all Level 1 Monsters and may not be quite effective.

In the end of Round 1, enemy Molten Ash Golem was already taken out while I still have all my monster units.

By the end of Round 2, Venari Marksrat was killed and buffed Gargoya Devil. Also, Swamp Spitter is doing its job perfectly to support Gargoya Devil.

By the end of Round 3, only two monsters remained on the enemy side. My Edith Emberstar also managed to kill a monster and triggered its Bloodlust ability.

With the massive fire power of the my line up, the enemy monsters were not able to recover and that leads me to victory.
