For this week's challenge, we will showcase the 'Maneuvers' ruleset, where Units with melee attacks gain Reach. Units with Reach ability can attack from the 2nd position of the line up. I will share a Wild Ranked Battle. Let's take a closer look at the card I used in this this ruleset and how it contributed to my team's victory.
Armored Strike is a melee attack. Sneak and opportunity override reach. |
For this battle, here are the specific rulesets and a mana cap to consider:
Mana Cap: 53
Active Elements: Water, Earth, Life, Death
Active Rulesets:
- Up to Eleven: All Monsters have the Amplify ability.
- Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
- Maneuvers: All units gain reach.
Summoner: Kelya Frendul
- Abilities: Give friendly units with the +1 Speed and +1 Armor. My strategy is to attack first while protecting my units. This is the reason why I used Kelya Frendul as my summoner.
Position 1: Diemonshark
- This monster has a very thick armor, partnered with its Speed and attack power. This unit is one of the key players in this battle because of its effectiveness as a tank.
Position 2: Flying Squid
- Though this unit already has the Reach ability, the primary role of this monster is to blind the enemy so that it will further increase my monsters to dodge enemy attacks.
Position 3: Coastal Sentry
- This monster is one of my main attacker because of its Double Striker ability. And since it has the Reach ability in this battle, it can attack even if it is not in the first position.
Position 4: Swamp Spitter
- This is my support in this battle. It will repair the armor of the unit that took the most damage. It will work hand in hand with Diemonshark in this battle.
Position 5: Riverboat Captain
- I also used Magic Attacks in this battle. Its Blast ability is also quite effective to wear down the enemy line up.
Position 6: Venari Wavesmith
- This is my monster in the 6th position and provides another set of armor to allied units.
Strategy:
The strategy here is to overpower the enemy in terms of speed and attack output. When Coastal Sentry is placed in the second position, its damage can be devastating to the enemy. The other monsters will act as support and also deal additional damage to the enemy.
The enemy used Astral Entity to summon Death elements to the battlefield. Astral Entity's armor debuff is very effective against my lineup. Its Evade is also effective, but not against my monsters with magic attacks.
Let the battle begins!
My strategy is quite effective. At first, I thought I was going to lose because Diemonshark was defeated. However, Coastal Sentry led the assault and secured my victory in this battle.
