Hello everyone! Lester here and this week I will share my fan art of Fiendish Harpy. This is an entry to Splinterlands Art Contest. If you also want to participate, check their post here - Splinterlands Art Contest Week 183!
Fiendish Harpy Lore: Yet another product of the Gloridax science facilities, the Harpies do not know their purpose in life. They are quite intelligent, which has led them to ask why they were born with such a twisted form. One of the aims of the experiment that produced these monsters was enhanced breeding, to be used for livestock in the Draykh-Nahka feed yards, so two of them were created. The one male and one female escaped (or were released from) the facilities and began spreading their own special brand of chaos throughout the Splinterlands, dropping litters as they went.
In my drawing, instead of being born from Gloridax science facility, this Fiendish Harpy hatched from an egg. With no idea of where it is, it cried its heart out in the middle of a deserted place.
Here is a time lapse video of the whole process. And the following will describe the steps I did to create my entry.
I first created a rough draft of what the image will look like.
I then created a more clear outline of Fiendish Harpy.
After creating the outline, I then applied the base color.
Then I applied the first layer of shades.
After that, I applied another layer of shades to give more volume to the image.
And lastly, I drew the background. I placed the Fiendish Harpy on a deserted place with a wall on its back. There are also other Harpies flying in the sky which means that this place is a nesting ground for Harpies.
