When I think about photography, I definitely think in color. The beautiful display of color that autumn brings, puts my thinking into overdrive!. If you were to take a drive out in my neck of the woods, you would notice how drab and lifeless the landscape looks. It seems like all plants and vegetation have the same yellow-brown color. I like to compare it to the desert, everything is incredibly dry. There has been next to no rain in the last 3 months, so its not a big stretch to compare it to the desert. The field I keep my horse in the summer has its own watering hole and this year it dried up completely.
The next photo will show how much it changed ...
I took this photo 10 years ago. Same watering hole believe it or not !!
Regardless of the parched and lackluster appearance of the area, autumn brings color and beauty if you look deeper. Its farming country so there isn't a bunch of trees like you would see in a forested area. But just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. It is there, but if you're not looking for it you'll never find it. Through the lens of my camera, i find all kinds of beauty just waiting to be noticed.
As soon as the leaves start to turn color, I begin my mission to capture as much color as possible.
While I was walking around taking pictures, I was shocked to find a sunflower plant flourishing 🙃
We ( I should say my husband lol ) feeds the birds throughout the year. This little sunflower grew here because of the birds scattering the seeds. How amazing is that? Its October ... the growing season has been done for months!! And this busy little bee is taking advantage of this pleasant surprise.
