I had always had it in mind to take creativepearl out on a date since the last one we had around November of last year, which was a visit to Olumo Rock in abeokuta. Then I figured out the place I liked to take her since she had never been there before. I planned doing it on Valentine's Day, but I didn't because "Oh boy, I was short on funds and didn't want to go beyond my ability". Talking about Valentine's Day, I settled for ordering food and chilling on Netflix.
This past Monday, we were able to go out to OOPL Cinemas (Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library) in Abeokuta. We planned to watch the Nigerian movie Love in a Pandemic. This is actually the first time I am watching a Nigerian movie in the cinema. I chose it because Pearl chose to watch the movie; if it were up to me, I would have picked Shazam 4 instead. I didn't let her know my preference; instead, I agreed with what she wanted.
The movie wasn't that bad. If you are expecting me to talk about the movie, I am not doing that. I am just going to share the pictures we made and talk about our outing. Hopefully @creativepearl gives a review of the movie we watched on her blog in her free time.
We got to the movie late, and we could not take any pictures while we were on our way because we were rushing. Lucky for us, a random man stopped by to ask if we were going to the cinema and decided to pick us up there since he was heading there. He saved us a lot of stress because the cinema was a little far from the gate.
The movie ending
After the movie had ended, we spent a lot of time taking pictures and walking around. We made some videos as well, but they are too short, and I am not ready for the stress of editing videos; maybe I will share them later, iff I remember.
The first set of pictures I took after leaving the cinema was this one. You can see in the picture right above that there are a lot of people in the background; this is because the movie we watched just ended and another group of people were entering to watch the next movie available.
The secret to the beauty of this picture is the radiant smile from Pearl.
First, I don't really take full pictures because I feel I am not photogenic when it comes to full pictures, and sometimes I don't like when I look short in full pictures. But these pictures are bad because they were taken by a professional photographer.
These pictures were taken in front of the cinemas. I like the wall bricks and thought that they would be great for photos, and they really were. We took a lot of photos at this spot before leaving.
Then we saw these beautiful-looking bamboos well-arranged by the roadside. The picture below shows a clearer view of the road and the houses beside it.
We went on to take pictures at the large fish pond in OOPL, and I had to be careful not to drop my phone into the pond or else it would be gone. The pond is as large as a small river and is filled with catfish.
After then, we remembered a friend that worked around OOPL and paid him a visit. I totally forgot to take pictures because time had gone and I was in a hurry to get home early so as not to miss the HL Community Hangout that night.
I had a really nice time with Pearl; I really enjoyed the movie, too, and when we got home, we bought food from a restaurant because I could not wait to start thinking of food to cook.
