In every phase of life we pass through, there is always someone who has been in a similar situation. Therefore, the best way we can solve our challenges is by learning from the experience of others

There is an adage that says:

The best way to grow is by learning from the experience of others

These words are so true in every aspect of life and perhaps, help us to cut long circles and waste time, this is why it is always important to seek knowledge from people who you may feel are more knowledgeable in that area.

Imagine yourself in a new environment or ecosystem where you don't know your way around, and you have to figure out how to get to your objective as quickly as possible. You have two choices: either figure out which path is faster on your own or ask those around you which route is safer and faster.

The faster way of doing this is by asking people accustomed to the system and moving to your destination; Simple and clear. This is why I advise people to learn how to build their interaction and communication skills because it can go a long way in building one's life.

One cannot depend on his knowledge to get quick solutions to problems simply because we cannot know it all. We need to know what people learned over time and the best way to do it is by building our interactive skills. Let me give you a quick example:

When it comes to Hive, for example, not everyone who joins the chain is familiar with how the system works. Many individuals believe it operates precisely like traditional social media, but the only way they can be corrected is to locate someone or something to assist them.

The more they interact with others in the chain, the more they begin to learn things differently, recognize what they have been doing incorrectly, and learn from the mistakes of others.

Now, you must have seen the word SOMETHING highlighted, this means that Hive on its own is a system full of experiences. We have resources readily available asides from that, we have people ready to help out.

The existence of what we refer to as DOCUMENTS, such as books, notepads, and the like, is due to the value placed on people's experiences, which must be documented. That is why we have so many technical developments today: the younger generation takes upon the knowledge and experiences of the older age in order to better it.

If these discoveries were not documented, there would be so many inventions today that many people would have to go back in time to figure out how they were made, causing technological developments to be delayed.

I believe by now, you must have gotten the main idea of this post. We should learn to treasure experiences as they hold shortcuts to success. Asides from that, we should not be ashamed to ask people questions, it doesn't mean we are dumb but expresses our wanting to know. There is a saying that: A man who is wanting to learn must first acknowledge what he doesn't know.

These are some really good tips. Learning from the past is important. Thanks for sharing.

They usually say
‘Who ask question no Dey miss road’

And I find that analogy very true
Ask questions when you need to, and communicate with people

Yeah exactly. Person wey dey ask question no fit miss road

You are right
Experience is the best when it comes to teaching it like all you need to know someone has passed through it and ready to let to know how to take the right path.
Though how we communicate matters too because only with that we can get to know more.

Wow, our priest told us on Sunday that one cannot succeed alone! You need people to succeed. One thing I love about myself is that I don't keep my mouth shut when I am hungry for success nor am I ashamed of asking questions to experienced people irrespective of the status of the person I am asking provided I approach the person with respect politely.

Experience is indeed a shortcut to success.

Thanks for sharing.

Yah we all need each other to succeed. Your priest said the truth.

Yeah if we approach people with respect, they would be ready to answer our questions.

Exactly. That's why I disagree with the "experience is the best teacher" people in some instances. Sometimes the experience might be damn costly.

The existence of what we refer to as DOCUMENTS, such as books, notepads, and the like, is due to the value placed on people's experiences, which must be documented.

This too. It's sometimes amazing that experiences of people who lived ages ago is relatable to recent developments. History, they say, repeats itself. Those stuffs are never outdated.

No one can know everything. Since the beginning of our live We learn from others. There is no point of feeling embarrassed while asking anything. At times, we fear asking things because we feel like it may sound silly but even the silly questions are worth asking. Something sounding silly may open up a new gateway of discoveries.

We, humans, cannot be succeeded by trial and error formula. We do not have enough time to waste in wrong attempts. That's why the experiences of others value a lot. However, we are not supposed to apply or follow 100% of others experience on our lives. Instead we are supposed to take the lesson and examine how certain thing may or may not be beneficial for us

This post has been curated and reblogged by the Chinco Community !

You've said it all, ask who know road make e show you way so you for no lost.

I guess I almost learnt that the hard way. I didn't have a great background when it came to communication. I didn't know how to bring myself to ask questions. I always tried it out myself till I got it right or someone noticed and offers to help. I must say it is hard to do things on your own..the university taught mé that and I started to learn to open up, air out my views and also ask others for help.

Hive further took that part of me to another level. I remember joining the Leofinance Community as blindly as blind itself...but then I took the bold step to ask for help...then I kept learning through constant reading..it has helped me to a great extent..it has elevated me.

It's good to ask for help and it's better to keep experienced people around you so that when you make a silly mistake they're quick to correct you and help you retrace your steps in the right path.

Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge with us sir...we really appreciate everytime you do that.

My upvote might not be worth much but then I'll still show my gratitude in the most little way available...

Great post! ❤️

Smiles... Man, you dey engage! It's really tough to do things on our own in fact, man cannot survive without the help of another man.

Yeah, we tend to grow faster when guided than not having someone to guide us. Right now, what that took me 4 years to know, @olujay learned it within a month. You see the differences and the reason for having people with experience. It brings shortcuts to success.

...learned it within a month.

I owe a million accolades to you, my mentor. You have been there for every question, even the silly ones, and for every conversation that has, in one way or another, been a contributing factor.

Speaking of newbies, I have some questions and need some help. So, I'll be storming your discord soon.

Lol. My discord is always open man.

Ómo bro, I don reach to put ring for person finger..lol...yeah right..just like man cannot live by bread alone but with the help of his fellow men, he can catch fish and add to the bread..

Yeah, we tend to grow faster when guided than not having someone to guide us. Right now, what that took me 4 years to know, @olujay learned it within a month. You see the differences and the reason for having people with experience. It brings shortcuts to success.

You're right! And olujay is a perfect example...I've been seeing him everywhere, dudes actually growing at a very fast rate, he learnt from the best and things has been easy ever since..

Thanks man!

Trying it out yourself first is really so much work 😂.

Then when you finally use some help, you realise how much of your life you just wasted.

It's good to ask for help and it's better to keep experienced people around you so that when you make a silly mistake they're quick to correct you and help you retrace your steps in the right path.

Worse of all, some mistakes are irreparable.😔
Imagine spending too much to learn a new skill, when you could have simply asked for the best way to learn from experience people. The money is gone brahh😂😂

The significance of learning faster and reducing potential failures by simply learning from predecessors' experiences cannot be overstated.🤌🤌

How can one see an easier route to success and yet still choose the harder route? for the purpose of gaining first-hand experience? Definitely not me, haha. In this life, who has time to waste? I'm a sucker for good shortcuts.😋😌

One does not need to open their mouths or heads to begin to pour out their experiences in words till you learn from them, as they may not be so much of a teacher. Simply using the observation technique would go a long way. Investigating their successful works to determine what made them successful, as well as their failures to determine what went wrong and then learning from them.

How can one see an easier route to success and yet still choose the harder route? for the purpose of gaining first-hand experience? Definitely not me,

Laughed here… yeah being able to observe is a good skill that can go a long way.

I always enjoy reading from you because you always carry words of wisdom with you. And this made me remember the saying that what a old man can see while sitting down, even if the young man climbs the iroko tree he still won't be able to see it but if he ask questions he can see it.

Asking questions where one is not clear is key, even if you know I'll still advise you ask questions because the more you ask the more you know.

That's why I always love little children, anything you do in their presence they will always ask you questions and if you fail to give them an answer they will ask another person, how brilliant.

Thank you so much Star for sharing this with us, I truly appreciate it.
