I Pushed Through the Pain and Almost Died – Here's What It Taught Me About Life

After sustaining an injury last week, I have been calm and not been going out to exercise, I mean run. I have been home all through and not even doing any in-door exercises in anyway. I broke my consistent running streak and relaxed on the fact that I was feeling pain at the joint of my leg.

I didn't like the fact that I had not been exercising and the fact that if I don't exercise, I would not be able to burn the exercise fat on my body. So I decided to do something about it. I chose to forget the fact that I was feeling pain on my leg and run regardless of the pain I was feeling on my leg.

As a norm, when I run, I do so without pit stops until I get to my destination. I do not even take breaks to walk; I make sure I keep running until I get to my destination, then when I get to my destination, I give myself 5 minutes of rest before I run back home.

So I decided to try my normal routine today. At first, I was able to run to my destination without breaks, but I felt it in my body and my breath. I was so tired, weak. My tongue became bitter, and my eyes were almost like I was feeling dizzy. My eyes were rolling, and it was like I was going to die.

I stayed there for 5 minutes, asking myself the question, How do I get back home? I didn't hold a phone or cash on me, and the reason why I did that was so that I would not be tempted to take a vehicle back home in case I got very tired. So in that case I would be forced to walk back home if at least I would not be able to run back home.

So I decided to run back home with the way I was feeling, but you know, there was no way I would be able to get back home without having to pause a little to walk because I was tired, feeling pains in my joints, and my tongues were bitter. I just had to stop jugging and walk for a few minutes before I picked up and started jugging again.

I was a little disappointed in myself because the last time I jugged, I ran for a distance that was longer than what I did today. I ran for about 3.45 km, and today it was just about 2.4 km. Yet when I got home that day, I was not feeling half as tired as I felt today.

After walking for a few minutes today, I decided to pick running, and this time I told myself, I don't care how I feel; the only thing I care about is envisioning myself running all through till I get home with no breaks to walk. I so much felt like stopping to take a break, but I didn't. I kept pushing and pushing till I got home.

I got home really tired, stressed, and sweating all through, and it felt like I was going to die. In fact, "I almost died." I had to lay on my bed for 30 minutes before I could get up to set up for the day ahead.

What happened today reminds me of how life is. You get stronger when you stay consistent at something, but when you leave space for long breaks, you begin to lose it all without knowing it.

So tell me, what in your life do you feel you have taken a break from and need to go back to? If you don't go back and begin being consistent at it, you will lose it.

Hello star....it felt like you over stressed yourself trying to meet up with your running activities for the day. What if you collapsed on your way going back home? Lol

yeah, I tried to push myself so that I would be able to run. The thing is that I had not had a run for a week, and I didn't like how I was not consistent. So regardless of the pain I was feeling in my leg, I just had to push through.
