Last weekend, I decided to give my friends a treat by sponsoring a dinner for them. So we decided to go out to a pepper soup joint to enjoy ourselves.
I budgeted not to spend more than $7 on 3 plates i.e. at most a plate of pepper soup should be $2 but when we got to the canteen, we found out that a plate of pepper soup was $3. We didn't know what to do and wanted to find someplace else but @olujay decided to support us with an extra $2 so that our plan would not get shattered.
My plate of pepper soup
The image above was the plate of pepper soup that was served to me, it contained about 5 to 6 pieces of goat meat. The soup was not as spicy as I was expecting it to be. It was not as good as where I usually get pepper soup in Lagos, and it was even more expensive. In Lagos, I get a plate of pepper soup for $1 with a medium size piece of goat meat, but this was about $3.
We wanted to have fun with each other, to create memories, and also @olujay was travelling back home, so it was more like a little send-off for him too. Olujay got a very big cash fish with his pepper soup. Below is a picture.
That fish was massively big, and I must confess, my eyes was entering into olujay's pepper soup. Great for me too, his eye was entering into ours also and he wanted some goat meat from @t-gold and I. So we did trade by barter, we gave him some pieces of meat from our plates and we took slices from his massive fish.
For the drinks, we decided to buy two bottles of 5alive orange juice. The transparent bottle has a weight of 85cl and the other has a weight of 78cl but they are of the same price and quite a little difference in the taste. But I must say they taste good and did not cost up to $2 to get them both.
Three of us shared the two bottles and we were filled. We felt it was way cheaper compared to buying some other drinks. Moreover, we don't have a lot of money on our disposal so, we are trying to manage with what we have.
I was done finishing my pepper soup, and I thought @olujay needed some accompaniment or someone to assist him to finish up, so I thought to join him. You can see me tapping some grace from his plate of pepper soup in the picture above. Doing my duty as his friend, if I don't help him out, who will?
To conclude... Here is one last group photo I need to share here!
