We may dislike our current situation and be concerned about what we can do about it. We worry during these times, and we waste a lot of time on things that do not contribute to our personal development. The real key to living a better life is to pay attention to where your mind and focus are and whether or not they contribute to your progress.
If something bothers you, ask yourself, "Is it within my power to make this change?" If it is, work towards it; if it is not, put your mind off it and focus on what is within your power to do. Spending more time on things you can't change will lead to frustration and depression, which will affect your life negatively.
Here are three things in life that you cannot change and should stop worrying about:
THE PAST
Why be concerned about the past when it is referred to as the past? If something happens, we should focus on the present while attempting to shape the future. The past remains in the past, which is why it is referred to as "the past," and we should not dwell on it too much.
THE OPINION OF PEOPLE ABOUT YOU
Many people are concerned about this most of the time, and they work hard to change what others think of them, but they forget that we have no control over what others think. We can only change our opinions and thoughts, not the other way around. The best we can do is continue to be ourselves and hope they understand better.
THE BEHAVIOUR OF OTHERS
We have no control over how people behave in the same way that we have no control over their thoughts. People will always be who they are, and they can only be changed if they choose to change. Everything comes down to their individual choices, over which we have no control.
Others we cannot change, but when we notice them, we should redirect our attention to something more productive. I've listed the most important thing we can change in our lives below

OUR MINDSET
The main difference between successful and unsuccessful people is their mindset. We can only improve our lives if we work on the information we feed it, how we think, and our outlook on life.
This has a greater direct impact than we realise, which is why I work hard to secure what I feed my mind, what I watch and see. Because our actions are based on what is in our minds, you become what you feed your mind indirectly.
It's been said that your ability is limited by how you think. So, wealthy people think differently than poor people; they feed themselves various types of information that affect their lives because that is what they can change and build on.
The type of mindset that people have nowadays is further divided into two different types:
- Fixed Mindset
Those with a fixed mindset live their lives based on their current circumstances. They are constrained by their failures and lack the motivation to aim higher and fight for their dreams. They are the type of people who live in the past and are influenced by their past experiences, rather than living the life they are meant to live in the present.
There are a lot of people who have this kind of mindset, which is why so many people give up and commit suicide nowadays. They have all been labelled as having a fixed mindset.
- Growth Mindset
As the name implies, they are not constrained by the circumstances of their current lives. They believe things can be better and devote their efforts to making them so. They don't dwell on the past, but instead focus on what's happening now.
People with a growth mindset understand that their current situation is not permanent and that there is hope for a better future. This is why, when you find one, you will always see them putting everything they have because they understand that their future is dependent on the actions they take now.
There is a lot to say about what you can change, but changing your mindset, in my opinion, covers almost everything you need to live a better life. If you examine all of the other things you can change, you will see that they all fall under the category of needing to change your mindset.
The mind is extremely powerful, and it is where our decisions, thoughts, and actions are generated. So what else do you need to change, especially if it isn't your mind?
