I think it's fair to say I've not made the most of the beach this summer. I'm not too sure why, it just hasn't happened. I guess it might be due to fact we've actually had some decent weather which in the face of it, doesn't seem a great reason. However, my beach partner in crime Lola the labradoodle isn't too fond of heading out when it's toasty. We did however fix that this morning as I was awake early and really fancied watching the sunrise.
We got to the beach just before 6 and it was lovely a lovely mild 20c with a refreshing breezed from the east. The sun was just about giving away it's location on the horizon.
We didn't have to wait too long until it started to show itself. I tried to video it but it was a bit of a challenge holding the camera still, whilst trying to keep an eye on the dog in case she wondered off to do her business. Ultimately it was a bit of a FAIL.
By the time we got to the turnaround point where he headed into the dunes, the sun was behind the clouds and it really did turn rather lovely. We had walked about 3/4 of a mile at this point and I was surprised we had only seen two other people out and about. A true sign the kids are heading back to school.
Pretty much the same view from the same point, just inland.
Lola caught up with a few of her pooch friends when we got back to the car. I think she was a little miffed we'd got there so early but still got a chance to punch Purdy's ball and have a run around with Pip. That's always amazing to see as Lola is nearly 30kgs and Pip is the size of a small handbag. It gave me a chance to grab an image of the old lifeboat shed (the new shed is to my left). The approach to the beach has just been widened in readiness for a new lifeboat to be delivered.
It's my one day a week lay in tomorrow so I won't be repeating the early morning walk again then! More like a mug of tea and bacon sandwich in bed!
