The common defination of Marketing that everyone of us knows is that, it is a technique through which a company ensure to sell their product to customer, in the way they wanted to be. However, many of us simply get into a trap and unable to decide what is good or bad.
I remember , my friend always use to buy the branded products. He spent lots of money in clothing and buy some well branded clothing products from shopping mall. He not even bothered to take a look at other shops and always make his way to branded showrooms or shopping malls.
On the other hand I always prefer to check all option available in local shops as well. As a result I manage to get the same branded quality product at a reasonable price. And my friend always surprised to see my quality but he never trusted the local shops.
What I understood is that the brand is just a marketing strategy of the company who alwsys promises to give best quality while the non branded never give such promises still they manage to get good customer response. To elaborate this simple equation, let's understand a simple example.
There are 2 surgeons, both of them have equal number of experince and charge equal fee, and equal number of patients coming to both of them. One of them doesn't looks like a surgeon, he sounds confused and not at all well mannered.
While the other one is just opposite, well mannered, neatly maintained office, all certificates displayed at office etc.
Now if you want to go for surgery....then to whom you will visit.??
With same number of experince and fee, A normal human being will always opt to visit the one who are well mannered. And Why not so, as he has well maintained office and services. But at same time, there is no denying fact that the other doctor is far better than the well mannered doctor too. The catch is the number of patients. Even though he is untidy and looked confused no marketing done, he still manages to pull equal number of patients as that of a well mannered surgeon. Despite all the biases going against him he manages to get a good patients. This simply indicates he is way ahead in his experince than the other.
This is exactly the story with brand VS Non Branded products. A product which is not marketed well, must be a better product if it sells equally well.
