Today is the 7th day, that I am on milk and fruit diet. This is a practice that I have following on lately. On the ocassion of Navratri, I keep myself distant from foods. There are many people who have been following the same rituals since ages. Fasting duringbthe auspicious month of Navratri is considered to be very pious. It is way to offer respect to Goddess Durga. While many people make laugh at this, my Mom is bit worried.
Navratri is a nine-day festival that honors the goddess Durga in her various forms. During this time, devotees worship the goddess with rituals and prayers. So people keep fasting for straight 9 days. While many people.like ton have some normal foods at night. Avoid the common salt in process. Since I am following this practice, I am feeling good in my health. Abstaining from.salt and cereals sounds like a tough job, but if we really have rhe guts then we get through it easily. This is a very popular festival, that was celevrat3d with so much enthusiasm. The festival often ends with Dussehra (also known as Vijayadashami) on the 10th day. On this day, statues are immersed in water or burned with fireworks to symbolize the destruction of evil. Quite an importsnt days for Hindu. And everyone take part in it with all emotions and feeling.
