In today's time, the way we consume news has changed significantly. Gone were the days, when people wait for day to end and sit in front of television to listen to the day progress in differrnt news channel. Now people can access news easily even right under their finger tip. Thanks to the technological advancement that have made it easier for people to access news and information from a wide range of sources. The easy accessibility ofninternet has smoothen the progress. People can get any news, at any point of place instantly. News can come from multiple mediums at the same time. Journalists can use smartphones and social media to capture and share news stories as they happen. However, the fast pace life does not allow us to authenticate the news. Or we are not interested to cover the while story and learn the various aspect. There are alwsys a two sides of coin, and so does the various news that flashes either on our mobile screen, happy, or television. This may lead to serious consequences.
In case we are unable to evaluate the news properly we may end up into fake news trap. There were chances of rumours and it can spread like fire in jungle. We have recently seen, how social media and internet allows, genersl public to topple the Bangladesh government. There might be the case that many people take part in the revolution without Evaluating the authenticity and swayed themselves into the revolt. This makes it very importsnt to listen, understand, research and act accordingly.
Daily NEWS & Me.
I avoid listening to news anymore. Especially, when the news channel is workjng towards increasing their TRP through show off program. I noticed, that in recent time, the TV media houses are more of a drama stage rather than a news delivering point. They share news what they like to share. Having worked with a prominent TV channel of our country, I know how these channel works. I started avoiding show off and develop a new interest of getting to national and international news.
In last few weeks, I am enjoying reading news paper over a cup of tea. People from all walk of life assemble at a tea shop, read the news and share their respective views. Such get together does allow us to see the different prospective of life and also the viewpoint on certain topic. Most of the talks revolves around politics, which I more avoid. There were many tea shops around, and one can find similar scene at all the points. People comes out for morning walk, enjoy their cup of tea and went back home after getting all the news. They able to read rhe various news paper news and also manage to learn the differrnt prospective from each other.
Over the times, there is a swift change of people liking towards different news. People tend to be interested in news that is relevant to their lives. While the younger generation have no time to watch TV, they remain hooked up on differrnt social media to get to different development. And many tends to avoid any news that does not relate to their area of interest. While the older generation, wants to know about their local communities, and to see themselves in the news.
People also want to find a trusted source of news, and to be able to act on the information they receive. Trusting a news blindly, is going to hamper us in many way. Before acting on any news it is important to learn about the source, their authentication. News evaluation is quite easy with many platform available to justify the news. Just look at them and then get to the point. Mere listening and acting is not going to do well. I am a firm beliver that Don't believe in hearsay.
