Pink Sunset : My Entry To Love The Clouds Contest #178

Hello fellow cloud lovers and LTC community,

I am joining again the Love The Clouds Contest by @tobetada. This round I am still creating my own digital art like my previous entry.

I was always fascinated by the sunset with all the clouds in the horizon as they take different shapes and vivid colors that you can imagine. That is what I was going for in this entry. I want to capture the breath taking pink and purple clouds which I often see during a sunset. This is the best that I came up with and below are some screen captures which fortunately I had the time to do because once my creativity gets rolling I tend to miss that part.

So, I started with a purple cloud using the 3D shape maker on the tools like shown in here. It is not that easy to magically create in an instant because the shape will depend on your own strokes. If you can't control your hand well you end up with rough and squared edges rather than the soft that we would want to make for a cloud.

Here I zoomed in so I can create depth on the cloud. I used a shade darker than the purple base to give it that shadow effect at the bottom. Here I am using the spray brush.

Zoomed out, I already added a few more clouds and put the pink background already so I can adjust the other colors accordingly. I even tried adding a white cloud to see if it will work with the rest.

I realized that the dark purple shadow is not going to work because the sunset is pink and the sun is below the clouds. So instead of a darker shadow I need the sun reflecting some silver linings or in this case pinkish linings on the clouds. The corrections are very easy and quick to do because the clouds are individually created and can be manipulated easily. I can rotate them twist them until I am good with the angle. Stretch them, copy and paste them and or shrink them. It was fun making this cloud scene hope you enjoyed reading and see you in the next.
