Lenny's Lookout

Lake from above

We took a fall hike up to Lenny's Lookout. It was a beautiful day here 60F and sunny. We won't get many more of those before winter.

Trail

Lenny's Lookout is a short hike from a parking area near Branbury State Park.
You can also take a trail from Goshen which starts above Silver Lake and avoids most of the climb. Here's a link for the Story of Lenny's Lookout

Power line cut

The hike is about 1.5 miles up from Lake Dunmore to Silver Lake, then about a quarter mile along this power line cut to Lenny's Lookout. We did it in about 30 minutes so its not too bad. Lenny's Lookout is in the Green Mountains a part of Moosalamoo National Recreation Area - Addison County, Vermont.

Sun setting

We arrived about an hour before sunset and were looking straight west so the lighting was challenging. The view was still spectacular. You can see Lake Dunmore below and then all the way across the Champlain Valley to the Adirondack Mountains in New York.

Lake Dunmore

As many of you know, I live near Lake Dunmore. We spent some time trying to figure out exactly where from this view 🤔 lol

Lake and Adirondacks

I highly recommend this hike. Its an easy hike with a nice payoff. Thanks for checking out my post 👍 Have a great Friday!

I always upvote myself... Is it bad?

I really like my posts 😅

😊 then you are fine.

Gorgeous views well worth the walk before winter arrives, leaves underfoot aplenty!

@tipu curate

Thanks. Unfortunately more leaves underfoot than on the trees 😁

That time of year, still pleasant to be out with crunchy leaves underfoot.

Worth the hike to look at that view.

Yeah the view is definitely worth it. I would have put in a few more miles for the view if necessary haha

Nice views on Dunmore lake 👍

Thanks, its a nice view. First time I had found a good overlook of the lake.

What a beautiful hike and view @steven-patrick 😊

Nice Shots man a beautiful forest can imagine the amount of surprises that can be found. You know it must be great in that forest to lie on the grass and look at the tops of the pines and all the natural landscape

Thanks. It really makes you feel a part of nature laying on your back and looking up at all the tall trees to the sky... a small, humble part of nature 🙂
