Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about the Blues with the legend that is John Lee Hooker

Song 1

His big hit, so iconic now! This is the Blues brothers version

and a live verion

Song 2

You want classic live blues? I mean this is it, the pureness of live blues played by a skilled master is something to listen too.

Song 3

Again this is so pure and so perfect for its genere. The bareness of him and his guitar is where the soul is in blues I think. I mean look at his eyes on the close up in this video....if anyone went to the crossroads to sell their soul for the power of the blues then those eyes did it....

We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!

Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!

Love J L hooker, and BB king. There are so many other blues artists from that period that are under appreciated.

I don't think a lot of people realize that without early blues artists there would be no rock music!

Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now and enjoy the tunes 😉😅

Its a good soapbox for sure! I saw BB King play he was incredible.

I saw BB King play he was incredible.

M8... I'm jealous! 😉

true dat!

I used to be into the blues in my student days. Hooker was the real deal and almost all the old guys are gone now. Others keep the flame alive. It was some of the British bands who helped make blues popular, but then the US had more issues with race and music was quite segregated. That seems so strange now, but those attitudes may still linger.

The Blues Brothers is one of my favourite films. You can tell the people involved loved the music. That scene with the street market feels authentic and I assume they just filmed what was going on anyway.

I still love the blues as it was so influential! Although I dont listen to modern blues much just the Ogs!

Hey, how good it is to see you publish again, so long without reading them. Great musical selection, I only knew Hobo Blues, but I'll treat myself to more of John's music ❤️

thanks bro, ye one of the SUBs is ill so we took a break from it all! Keep up the good work for HOM!

Never really got into blues, if not slightly indirectly through classic rock acts like Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, ZZ Top...
I like the groove and the intention, but it bores me quickly 😅

fair play!
