The Angel in Disguise.

“Hello, sis. My wife birthed a cute girl this morning.” It was a call from my brother. His wife had birthed a beautiful girl for us, and I couldn’t hold the excitement. So, I planned my visit to the hospital the day after.

My brother had been there for about three days, and from his appearance, he was so tired. So, I went there to see my beautiful wife and baby and relieve my brother. He needed to go home for a change of clothing. So, I was there at the maternity ward. It was my first time at a maternity ward.

I saw new mothers, and their people couldn’t hold on to rush in to greet them. But it’s part of the hospital rules that people are not allowed in the maternity ward in mass to protect the little ones and the mothers that are in a sensitive period.

It was just me with my brother’s wife, so I was sure I had no issue staying with her so that I would help with moving things around and tend to our little cutie.

Among the new mothers in the ward, there was a mother who was in serious pains, so she sat there and watched her baby cry because she didn’t have enough strength to stand up to draw the baby close to her.

There was another one that had difficulty breastfeeding her baby and the nurses said, the baby had gone for some hours with some other food except breastmilk, and for the health of the baby, he needed to be breastfed.

From the countenance of the mother, she was angry, and sad at the same time. She struggled to sit up properly talk more of lifting her baby to breastfeed him. As I watched, I couldn’t fight back the tears that dropped down my cheeks. Maybe that’s why I didn’t like to showup at the hospital generally.

The possibility of shedding a tear when I see people in pains is very high, but this time, something happened.

I headed out to get some medications for my brother’s wife, and before I returned, there was a person in the ward attending to the mothers. Was she a nurse? No, she wasn’t. she was only a visitor. She had come to see her aunt that had newly given birth to a little cutie too.

Before I got back to the ward, my brother’s wife had carried her baby and breastfed, thanks to this beautiful angel that woke her up because she had some sleeping pills as part of her medication. She looked tired. While doing that, the two mothers I mentioned earlier needed help.

When I returned and saw her conversing with these mothers, I was at first happy and relieved that finally there was someone who knew exactly what to do to help them out.

The mother that watched her baby boy cried because she didn’t have the strength to stand up got her baby right beside her so that she wouldn’t have to stress to stand up. It was however magical to see the cute boy stopped crying as soon as the mother touched him. Oh, that bond.

The other mother that was in pains and couldn’t breastfeed her baby girl was presented with a kind of lift that made it easier for her to raise her legs and her baby would be well-balanced on her laps, and she wouldn’t need to struggle to stand up on her feet except there’s another reason to.

One more thing is the bright little smiles that had appeared on the lips of these mothers because of the help of this Angel, and for that, I was so grateful to the woman.

After she was done with the mothers, she moved on to another pregnant woman who was instructed to walk around for some workout session before she could go in for her delivery.

It was amazing seeing her handle everything with so much perfection. There definitely are angels in human form. That was the most interesting visit to the hospital I had, and that experience is so etched in my memory because I wished I had the knowledge of what to do to help those mothers in distress. Well, I learnt a bit from her from that visitation.

I think that without a doubt the best moments in hospitals are when there are births involved, because seeing a newborn is a joy.

You're very correct. 💯
