Monthly Grocery Day Before The Typhoon Arrived + Milk Tea and Steamed Dumplings

in #hive-1413598 days ago

I always prefer to do my groceries in the morning though it's a huge struggle for me now that I'm back with a random sleeping schedule. Supposedly, I should go to the grocery last Saturday but then my body felt weak and sluggish with only two hours of sleep. I rescheduled it on the next day and did my best to get more sleep.

Told myself that I can't reschedule it again because another typhoon is approaching and who knows if it would affect our area. But thank goodness we weren't affected by typhoon Nika.

With four hours of sleep, I pulled myself to the grocery and convinced that I have enough energy for that day.

I arrived about 30 minutes after the mall opened and again felt disappointed to see the grocery area already filled with people. I firsf went to the pharmacy to buy vitamins where the pharmacist also had me signed a small paper and instructed me to insert it in the drop box on my left. I didn't read what the raffle promo was about but whatever it is I wish I win. Lol.

I've been doing my groceries alone for around a year and a half already and I realized that it's not bad nor lonely at all. I also learned not to care with the people around me. The only downside with doing the groceries alone is pushing the cart by yourself the whole time. It gets difficult to maneuver as the cart gets heavy. This is one of the reasons why I dislike crowds inside the grocery. My hands felt really tired the next day.

There wasn't a long line at the cashier and I was able to finish after an hour and a half. As usual, I left my cart at the baggage area and went to the food court to buy siomai (steamed dumplings) as my snack when I get home after organizing my groceries. This was the first time the staff forgot to include some toothpick but no worries because I have lots of it here at home.

I bought two orders (4 pcs. per order) and it comes with lime, soy sauce, and chili garlic oil.

I also bought milk tea to pair with the dumplings. I got the cafe mocha cream cheese out of whim. Am I the only one who gets overwhelmed with the plethora of milk tea flavors?

I thought there were a couple of customers inside the milk tea shop but when I entered, I was surprised it was all the staffs of store. They seemed to be having a meeting and they all looked at me when I entered the store. Lol. I felt bad for interrupting their meeting.

Funny how the drink costs more than the food. The 2 orders of dumpling costed Php 100 while the milk tea costed Php 145. I'll skip the drink next time and only drink water.

I went back to the baggage area, claimed my cart, and rode a tricycle on my way home. Hopefully, I can get the courage to drive again, alone, someday. Even though the roads make me very anxious, especially nowadays that some drivers are mean to new drivers.

I congratulate myself for surviving another task for the day and doing it before the typhoon landed in our island. Now I have enough foods and no longer have to go out when the next typhoon comes. It's important to always think ahead of securing your necessities especially when a calamity is approaching.

Good day and thanks for reading! 💚
