Happy Halloween! It's already the 31st in my time zone and you know what that means?
It's time for a TRICK or TREAT!!! 🎃
When it comes to firsthand paranormal experiences, I could only share a few. Most of it was during my childhood. A reputable psychic I have spoken to two years ago said that I can sense spirits but I shrug them off.
(I would like to apologize to all the spirits who have failed to get my attention. I didn't mean to let you down. Try better next time!)
Now this story I am going to share is something I couldn't just ignore. It's been almost two decades but remembering what happened that day still sends chill down my spine every time I try to recall it.
The Staring Game

Back in third grade, my sister, brother, and I share the same room. My brother has his own bed while my sister and I share in one bed. Let's put my brother out of the picture because he was asleep when it happened.
Our bed was at the corner and I sleep beside the wall, while my sister at the open side.
My sister's usual routine back then was to go to the bathroom at dawn (perhaps between 2 to 3 A.M.) to pee. Sometimes I get awaken when she gets out of the bed. And when she knows I'm awake, she would stand and lean on the door frame and play a staring game with me. She would do a poker face, staring and never blinking. She'll only stop when I begin to get scared and tell her to stop. Yes, I get scared whenever she does that, because for the little girl me, everything becomes scary during the holy hour. Lights in the entire house were turned off and only a small lamp lit our room.
You see, I have a crazy sister, right? Lol.
So one night, I had a nightmare. I dreamed of an "aswang" (ghoul). When I got checked mate by the ghoul in my dream, I suddenly woke up and felt my body pull up on its own in a sitting position. And because it was so sudden, I banged my forehead into the wall beside me.
While I was rubbing my forehead to lessen the pain, my peripheral vision caught someone at the door. When I turned my head to see who it was, I was surprised to no one but my sister.
She was leaning on the door frame and playing a staring game again. I stared back for a couple of seconds. Yup, eye to eye. Then my eyes wandered on her face and noticed that she was half smiling. I began to have a weird feeling after seeing that she didn't budge nor blink after more seconds.
I was waiting for her to move and return to bed so we could sleep back again.
But then..my eyes wandered beside me. Guess what? It was my sister sleeping peacefully and covered with her blanket.
My eyes went back and fort to my sleeping sister and "my sister" standing at the door. I was confused for maybe like 3 seconds? Until I realized that the one standing at the door wasn't her. The funny thing was I tried to wake up my sleeping sister by tapping her butt..BUT! I failed to wake her up.
I slowly looked again to my sister's replica and she hadn't really moved at all! She was still staring at me with her facial expression still the same as well. Damn, I felt my whole body heat up and shake terribly. I immediately grabbed my blanket and covered my whole body. I curled up inside the blanket, very much scared of what I just saw.
I could no longer see "her" since I have covered myself with blanket. However, the next thing that happened also scared the hell out of me. I heard footsteps entering our room. I don't know what to do. At that moment, I was scared, shaking, and felt really helpless. I was only able to sleep when our mother woke up at 5 A.M. and turned on the light at the kitchen. (We leave our bedroom door open back then when we sleep so we can see when the kitchen light is on.)
Doppelganger

I know you already know what I had experienced while reading my story. :)
As I have heard, a Doppelganger is a negative entity that imitates a person's image. They also said, the dress being imitated by the entity must be burned or else the person being copied would meet an unfortunate fate (die). For my sister's case, the Doppelganger and my sister were wearing exact same shirt and shorts at that same moment I saw them. I told my family about seeing my sister's Doppelganger when I woke up but no one believed me. My sister's clothes weren't burned either.
I know what I had experienced was real because I wasn't the only one. There were other two Doppelganger encounters here in our home.
After that encounter, I was scared to stand at the door nor look at the half body mirror beside the door. The little me felt like she would appear at the mirror when I stare at it.
Yup, that's my most chilling story, yet. I have other stories with Poltergeists but they're not as scary as this one.
Happy Halloween!!! 🎃
