Picnic Point
We had to take our little one to the doctor today as she has been a bit under the weather. She was such a brave little trooper that we decided to give her a bit of a treat. After visiting the doctor we stopped off at a café to get each of the girls some healthy takeaway to eat and drink.
The weather was just too beautiful to head straight home, so I spontaneously took a right turn off Bradman Avenue and headed towards Picnic Point Esplanade. Picnic Point is located along the Maroochy River. It is such a great spot for little kids as there are no waves and the water is nice and shallow.
The girls loved their mini picnic at Picnic Point. We were only there for about half an hour, but what an enjoyable and relaxing half an hour it was. My wife and I lounged on a picnic rug while the girls explored the beach and dipped their toes in the water.
My wife being the photographer that she is, could not resist taking a couple photos of the cute boats on the river.
One thing that I am starting to realise from this BEACH LIFE blog series, is that it does not take much to have a great time at the beach. In the past we have always made beach visits much bigger outings than they needed to be.
Don't get me wrong there is nothing better that an all day out at the beach, with all the beach toys and sports craft, but that does not need to be the only type of beach visit. Spontaneous, half and hour visits are great too and highly recommended.
