Las suculentas son una especie de plantas que tienen como principal característica, su gran resistencia a las altas temperaturas y a la sequía. Esto se debe a la capacidad de retención y almacenamiento de agua que tienen en sus tallos y hojas.
There are several types of succulents, one of them is cacti. It is estimated that there are about 2,500 species, therefore there are many varieties of size, color and shape. They are all very easy-care plants, for example if you have to travel for a while, nothing will happen to the plant since, as I said before, they are designed to withstand times of drought without any problem.
Hay varios tipos de suculentas, una de ellas son los cactus. Se calcula que existen unas 2500 especies, por lo tanto hay muchas variedades de tamaño, color y forma. Todas son plantas de muy fácil cuidado, por ejemplo si tienes que viajar por un tiempo, no le pasará nada a la planta ya que como dije anteriormente, están diseñadas para aguantar tiempos de sequía sin ningún problema.
Apart from their care, they are also plants that grow in various shapes and their flowers are colorful, which is why it is a nice option to decorate the home, we only have to place them in places where we cannot trip over them since their thorns are quite sharp and we can get hurt.
Aparte de su cuidado, también son unas plantas que crecen con formas variadas y sus flores con coloridas por lo cual es una bonita opción para decorar el hogar, solamente debemos ubicarlas en lugares donde no la podamos tropezar ya que sus espinas son bastante afiladas y nos podemos lastimar.
It is also a good option if we have pets in the house, since having the thorns, our cats or dogs will not want to bite them or play with them, as can happen with other types of plants haha.
También es una buena opción por si tenemos mascotas en la casa, ya que al poseer las espinas, nuestros gatos o perros no van a querer morderlas o jugar con ellas, como puede pasar con otros tipos de plantas haha.
Something that caught my attention about cacti is that, depending on the species, they can take from 15 days to 3 years to germinate. These have several ways to reproduce, it can be with seeds but it is a process that takes more time and is more delicate. Another method is with a cutting, the cutting is cut and left in a place where there is no humidity until the part where it was plucked dries, when it forms a kind of key, it is ready to be planted and continue growing.
Algo que me llamó la atención de los cactus, es que depende de la especie puede tardar desde 15 días hasta 3 años para germinar. Estas tienen varias formas para reproducirse, puede ser con las semillas pero es un proceso que lleva más tiempo y es más delicado. Otro método es con un esqueje, se corta el esqueje y se deja en un sitio donde no haya humedad hasta que se seque la parte por donde fue arrancada, al formase una especie de cayo, ya está lista para ser sembrada y continuar creciendo.
