As children while growing up we never know how telling lies is bad because then we tell lies to save our heads from all kinds of trouble especially those kinds that will attract “doctor do good”. Those long slim flogging cane 🦯 can be so frightening that I prefer to tell lies to save my head. Even sometimes I told lies to save and protect others from being hurt. Lying then is inevitable because we don’t even know the consequences of telling lies.

And growing up into maturity I became so sensitive of lies because as adults we are already aware of what is right from what is wrong, but then because of how sometimes we are faced with situations that will commit us into telling lies , we then has to question ourselves of what to choose. Should we live for integrity and maintain a personality where we don’t get involved with lies or see life as one that has no balance without the other?

Lies are what we can’t avoid but we must not live for it because some lies can be very dangerous and will end up leading us into trouble. The truth will set us free the Bible said. This means we should always live a life free of lies but it can never be fully 💯 percent. Why? There are certain situations that will definitely force us to tell lies even as Christians.

I cover for the laborers a lot at the site where I work. Sometimes we as humans has to have compassion for others even if we are not gaining anything from them. When we have some hourly paid job at any site, we employ laborers to pay them daily until the job finishes. Sometimes one or two of these laborers may have personal problems and may not report for duty at the started time. This eventually will affect the person’s payment for day. And at the end of the day I will have to give reports to the accountant who pays everyone. So sometimes I have to lie to cover few hours the laborers did not work because wages is not even enough for these family men. This type of lies I do to protect them to get their wages in full. Laborers work are all hard work.

Although I will want to be known or seen as a person of integrity, but I will always want to protect those I care for to save them from trouble because if we are to be our brothers keeper, we will go extreme to sacrifice for them and even for ourselves because if they are free from trouble, our heart ♥️ will be at peace. This means lies that we tell for such reasons should not be seen as so bad.

But despite all these we should always be careful of lies that can lead us into trouble. Trying to cover up for people we don’t know very well is one dangerous thing or standing in for a friend we don’t know two well. Situations like this is best we abstain ourselves from them to avoid going into consequences of all kind. Life is too hard to have extra burden added to it.
