Post #1 in the A-to-Z photo challenge
Delicious apples, their beautiful white blossoms with a hint of pink, ashes and alders - what do they have in common?
They all start with the letter A.
I was digging into my photo archives, and selected photos of different subjects starting with each letter of the alphabet, inspired by the A-to-Z challenge in the publication Living in Colour by JoAnn Ryan.
I probably have not picked my absolute best photos for each of the subjects but I have way too many to go through them all. Also, there are so many things starting with the same letter that I will restart again from A once I reach Z.
Apple blossoms
So, as the title of this post says, the first subject is Apple - tasty red apples from my grandparents' yard. Juicy and sweet, with strong aroma - nothing like the hard pale apple-shaped fruits sold in the supermarket.
Apple
Delicious apples come from delicate blossoms. I like their almost-translucent petals with pink highlights against the blue sky.
I am sure I have many more apple blossom photos but they will come in another post when I find them some day.
Ash
Next in the list is Ash.
Why? Just because I came across the photo and I like how it turned out.
This photo is actually more than 10 years old. I gave it some boost in Lightroom. The original one was quite snapshot-like. It is no masterpiece but fits nicely this series of posts.
Angelfish
I love fish. Just wait until it is time for the post with the letter F! I have stopped eating fish altogether. They are my friends.
Since we are still at the letter A, I am showing some photos of my pet angelfish that I have had as a child and during my teen years.
Angelfish are intelligent and sociable. They learn who feeds them and come to interact with you throughout the day.
I like their unusual shape and the huge fins. I wonder why evolution made their bottom fins so long and thin.
I found so many other photos of objects starting with A that I’m already thinking of starting from A once more. Well, I will be able to do that 25 posts from now :)
