Exploring The Architectural Marvel, Bird's Nest Stadium

in #hive-1637729 days ago

This weekend was also a great day with amazing weather, excellent fresh air, and a blue sky. It always attracts me to explore, and as I told you in my last blog, I will pay a visit to the city area of Beijing downtown, I have visited the Olympic Village area of the Beijing Municipal. Although I visited the Olympic Forest Park last summer, I have not visited this area near China's famous Bird's Nest Stadium, which is also the national stadium of Beijing. The whole Olympic village was designed during the Olympic games in 2008 when Beijing showed its modern looks for the first time in the world in a completely different way. Recently, China has shown their capability in arranging the Asian Games, which was held in Hangzhou, China, from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in a completely newly introduced town with only the residents of the personnel related to the Asian Games. All these things show the development of the architectural sector of China.

Beijing has many great structures, and China is one of the leading countries in building stunning architectural marvels. The Bird's Nest Stadium is the largest stadium in Beijing, a major Olympic venue hosting the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. The outer shell of the stadium is the largest steel structure in the world and is part of the most complex Olympic stadium ever built. Also, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics 2022 were held here. Still, the structure attracts many people to pay a visit to this famous Olympic road, which is a hub of so many structures and activities for the Beijing people. So, I planned to pay my first visit to explore this beautiful structure in the downtown in my weekend today.

And I am lucky that the day was an excellent day in terms of the beauty of the day itself, as this year, we are enjoying the most beautiful days of winter in Beijing. I am really amazed at how the Beijing Municipality has changed its air quality in recent years. I left my dormitory after my launch around 1:30 pm and took the bus towards Beijing around 2 pm. It took around 1 and a half hours to reach in the city by bus and subway. The best thing about the destination is that there is a subway station that leads very close to the stadium.

It is a great place to explore a part of the city view as the vast premises will allow you to see the far horizon. But the stadium is in an open space with less number of trees surrounding the stadium area, but the beauty is really overwhelming even in this naked winter with colourless nature but with the deep blue background sky that makes all the views so stunning to explore.

The sun was shining so brightly, and I was just on the opposite side of the sun and took several photos of the unlighted colour of the whole structure. it was immense to adjust the total area in my camera with some colour looks. So, I have taken several photos covering different areas with slightly closer looks to view the steel bars and their arrangement that support the complete structure. I have also seen so many people visiting the area and taking photos of the great attractions of Beijing City. Also, there were many groups of tourists in the nearby area, which is a great place, and I have seen a few foreigners also.

I also tried to take a close look, and it was a giant structure, but it was a protected area, and I had no pass to enter the stadium area. I have seen my colleagues here attend many concerts, but I don't understand the language and the ticket price is also around 100-150 bucks, which is quite expensive for me. So, I have not been here, but today I have the opportunity to spend some time here.

After the opposite side of the stadium, I moved to the front side of the Stadium, and it looked different in colour as the sunlight was falling directly on the stadium bars. The whole stadium consists of so many steel bars which bear the complete load of the stadium, which is really a great miracle of the architectural marvel. I have seen the logo of the Olympic Games, and I had the opportunity to grab some beautiful shots there.

The vast area is properly maintained, with proper security and cleanliness throughout the premises, which is also a good point. If you want to visit the area, it is a perfect place for an afternoon visit. Also, there are so many shops for snacks and drinks, which are slightly expensive but very useful. I bought a bottle of water at 5 RMB, which is usually 2 RMB in normal shops or super shops.

In conclusion, the overall stadium is a compact place with the amazing modern advancement of the technological revolution in construction engineering. I read that the total cost of the stadium is around 40 million dollars. It can accommodate around 80,000 permanent visitors and 11,000 temporary visitors.

It has added another character to my travel diary, and I hope I can pay a visit for some function held inside the stadium in the near future. Though I had a chance to take part in the opening and closing ceremony in 2022, my Supervisor didn't allow me to go there due to the potential risk of being infected by the Covid virus at that time.

I hope you like my photos of the beautiful afternoon views of the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing City. The excellent air quality with beautiful blue sky makes the views stunning, which will definitely attract you. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.

Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.
Wish you a great weekend!
