A Miniature Market Friday
A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.
For this weeks post, I am going for a virtual market again and sharing some shots taken in my basement with the lightbox I have, and is a follow on from my Mini market Friday post.
so the subject is a couple of more of the little houses/markets in my coca cola village collection.
Now I bought one of these in a market one day which lead to me buying more over the years so that is sort of market related and add that the fact that a couple of these are a cafe and a five and dime, I think that gets me in with using the market Friday tag :)
Now I am pretty sure this one of a North Side Cafe is the first one I bought with the Coca Cola theme, and I picked it up in a little craft/Flea Market but I cannot remember where.

Years ago when I was single and working in NYC, I used to every now and again need a break and had a travel agent that I had used a lot and he got to know me well, and it got to the point I would call him up and say I need a break and I have Friday and Monday off, and he would call me back usually within half an hour saying can you be at the airport in 45 Minutes, and I would say sure and he would tell me which airline counter to go to to pic up my ticket.
Now reading this you may well think, but the travel agent and myself didn't discuss where to, and that's true, I had used him many times and he knew I just wanted to go somewhere I had not been before, and I often found out where I was going when I got to the airline counter at the airport
I did this probably 20 or 30 times and lead to some interesting weekends visiting places I may never have gone to otherwise.
Ok you may think what has this to do with this post and the Coca Cola Village set, well on one of these trips, and I think it was to somewhere in the Midwest, on the flight I got talking to the couple sitting in the row of seats with me, and they were heading home to a small country town which was having an arts and crafts festival that weekend, and I thought that sounded interesting and I ended up hitching a lift with them for the two hour trip to the town.
Luckily it wasn't a huge festival that drew in crowds from afar and I found a room in a hotel there, and explored the festival and in one of the vendors displays I found this North Side Café miniature house.
I do love the cool details on these pieces

and to finish off the story of that weekend, as the festival wasn't huge maybe 60 or 70 vendors, country music playing in a couple of spots , but luckily the hotel I stayed at was near a big open area with trails and streams so I had a good time enjoying nature and being away from the concrete Jungle of NYC
But enough waffling on, thats how I got the first one in this set, and slowly I picked up more
