Wednesday Walk A few shots from walks in the last week

This is the last Wednesday walk day for 2021, and I want to thank everyone who has joined in the fun of a Wednesday walk, it has truly been such fun for me to explore the world each week reading and seeing peoples walks

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

Make me Smile Collaboration

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,

Here are the rules for her challenge

For this week I am sharing some shots from three walks I took over the last week, I am not gettign out every day for photo walks as I do often in the warmer months, but when its not raining and not to cold for me I still like getting out for walks in the fresh air, other days I go tot he mall and get my steps in

The first walk was at the Piers here in New Bedford, there was some nice colors in the sky which I frame din this first shot with the arch on the boat, you can see the lighthouse in the background

When I got to the piers, and saw some nice color son the horizon I walked to a spot I go to often where looking across the water, but that morning it was closed off to people, as this big Reefer Ship was in port and being loaded but I walked around other parts of the piers to see what I could see and saw the big ship from another pier as I share next

Now I have shared a shot of the kit Kat kid as I call him, and not sure if I didnt notice it last time, and I couldn't find my old shot of it to confirm, but that morning i noticed the beams painted like kit kat bars

Walk 2 was a short walk in the Acushnet Sawmill while my wife was in an appointment, the colors pretty much all gone now as you can see, now it may have bene a short walk there only 2000 steps but with an early morning walk in the mall and out shopping with my wife I did over 10K steps that day

One of the old fences there had been broken, it looked like vandalism to me, but when I saw this post I thought it would make a cool shot

Walk 3 Was actually on a Wednesday Last Wednesday actually ( today as I am preparing the draft for this post) knowing with Christmas and time with family I will have less time on my PC over the coming few days , and was an early morning walk around Fort Tabor, the forecast said I had an hour before it would start raining again and it was spot on, just as I was thinking about finishing my walk 50 Minutes later the rain started but I managed to get back to the car keeping me and more importantly my camera dry

I cannot visit there and resist a shot of the pier, it was a light fog and misty, I took a long 55 Second exposure at F22 to get the star effect on the light son the pier

And a last shot of one of the rock walls, you can see the cloudy skies, infact I could make it out raining across the other side of the water
