Every 28th of June is World Piercing Day, and that is why we decided to highlight it in our community, because even though piercings, like tattoos, are in some way a well-known and popular body transformation in today's society.

If we dig a little deeper, we can find out that piercings are not a modern thing, as tribal piercings have existed since ancient times, and although there are aesthetic differences between the ones we can see in the city and the tribal ones, many of the latter have been adopted by ordinary citizens, as is the case with earlobe tunnels.

But before we go any further, we want to know how much you know about piercings: their names, the places where they are most commonly placed, whether they have any particular significance, the materials they are made from.

Have you ever had one, do you keep it or have you stopped wearing it? Which piercing do you find most uncomfortable to have: the tongue, the nipples or some intimate area?

You can also tell us about their care, or their acceptance in your culture.

These are just a few suggestions that you could develop in the theme of our community marked in the calendar of our InLeo allies.

How to participate?

• You can answer some of the questions we suggest or develop your own idea, either from your own experience or according to your perception of piercings and their positioning in today's society.

• It is important that the posts have no less than 3 pictures and that the minimum length is 300 words in English, although you can add the translation into your mother tongue.

Cada 28 de junio se celebra el día mundial del piercing, y por eso en nuestra comunidad decidimos destacarlo, ya que aunque al igual que los tatuajes, los piercings son de algún modo una transformación corporal conocida y popular en la sociedad actual.

Indagando un poco, podemos enterarnos de que el uso de piercings no es algo propio de la modernidad, ya que las perforaciones tribales han existido desde la antigüedad, y si bien existen diferencias estéticas entre los que podemos ver en la ciudad y los tribales, muchos de estos últimos han sido adoptados por los ciudadanos comunes, tal como sucede con los túneles en los lóbulos de las orejas.

Pero antes de que sigamos develando información, queremos saber cuánto saben ustedes sobre los piercing: sus nombres, los sitios donde más comúnmente son colocados, si tienen algún significado en particular, los materiales con los que son hechos.

¿Has tenido alguno? ¿Lo conservas o ya dejaste de usarlo? O, en cambio, ¿no tienes, pero quisieras tenerlo? ¿Cuál piercing te parece más incómodo de tener: la lengua, los pezones o alguna zona íntima?

También puedes relatarnos sobre sus cuidados, o la aceptación de ellos en tu cultura.

Estas son solo algunas sugerencias que pudieras desarrollar en el tema de nuestra comunidad marcado en el calendario de nuestros aliados de InLeo.
