This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.
Hello and greeting everyone in the Black and white community. I hope that you guys are doing great. Today while I was cleaning up my old book I saw one of my old album that being shoot with film. I looked at the photos inside and I realize that film look had it unique characteristic. One that I really like are the colors and the exposure that being made into the developed photos. Its not that sharp, the bokeh was just usual like shooting with f3.5 - f4. But the characteristic of the photo taken was unique and it made me realize the attributes that the photos had was one of the most important thing to add into the story inside the photos.
I had a friend he shoot with a digital cropped sensor and he always made the photo grainy and with a very soft focus. At first I was thinking that if he was using a film camera, turns out that he was using a digital camera. He added all the element into the photos while developing it in the photo editing software to make it looked like it was captured with a film camera. I love his artwork. But then a question raised into my head, "why does he took a photo with a digital camera but then taking photos with a film look or quality?". Well to be honest I never had the right answer to that. Art is subjective to begin with. As long as you produce an art that you really love then all the other opinion can be put aside.
So today I wanted to share another black and white series of Daphne. I think you guys remember her. She is one of the model in the studio that I am working now. One of the easies model to work with. SO this was an experiment setup that I tried to get a unique look with a single beauty dish attached with honeycomb. A little bit hard to get used to the lighting but somehow I did get some good shoot. Below are some of the photos taken with the one light setup.
EXIF - 1/100 | f/5.6 | ISO-100 | 85mm f5.6 | 0 step exposure bias

I still cant really exposed the photo well. I should be doing more setup like this to get familiar on the lighting setup for future portraiture. And that is all from me today. I hope that you guys enjoy reading my post. Until we meet again on my next post. Have a great day and always keep safe! Cheers!!
