Are you guys into baseball? Is this sport popular in your country?
In the Philippines, it's not that popular. Unlike basketball, boxing and volleyball, I rarely notice any news related to baseball. However, I got interested in baseball after watching a bunch of baseball anime and reading numerous baseball manga.
Since then, I've always wanted to watch a real baseball match and try pitching or batting if given the chance. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any baseball-related items in the sports goods at the mall near me. I can't even find a baseball ball to play with. hahaha
In Japanese baseball anime, the characters also often go to a batting center. I'm really curious about it, but there aren't any in my area. T_T When I was chatting with my Japanese friend once, he told me that he has been to a batting center (despite the fact that he plays volleyball). He said when I visit Japan someday, we're going to tick that off my list. (Japan is so expensive, though... I need okane~)
Anyway, the reason why I was blabbing about baseball is that there's this real-life GORO SHIGENO in the MLB. His name is Ohtani Shohei. Him being gorgeous and being my type is one (kicks self), but he's an amazing player. He's a great pitcher and an awesome batter. Well, too bad his team isn't strong... WELP, real-life Goro Shigeno, indeed... even in that aspect.. xD
I used mixed materials for this like colored pencil, markers and some pens on my sketchpad. Allow me to show you some progress shots of this artwork below.

It's done and all that's left is my signature and the date. I actually drew this last night... or should I say, past midnight. It was a great activity to do before hitting the hay at around 3AM?? hahah
There's a funny story I want to share related to Shohei.
Since I became interested in baseball, I followed MLB page on Facebook to get updates or watch some fine plays by various players including Shohei. I occasionally share it to my timeline and my mama would sometimes see it. She loves Goro Shigeno, too and I told her how Shohei is like the real-life Goro...
One day, while we were having breakfast, my mama suddenly shared something.
Mama: You know, I had an interesting dream last night!
Me: (curious) What was is about?
Mama: (sheepishly smiled) You got married!!! (Typical Asian mom?)
Me: Nah... not interested.
Mama: Don't you want to ask with whom?
Me: Nah! I'll only marry Tego-nyan!
Mama: It's not him, though... but you like this guy... don't you want to know... really?
Me: (gives up) Fine... with who?
Mama: Real-life Goro Shigeno!!!
Me: What??? hahah Shohei is younger than me, though.
And the conversation went on... It was pretty random for a dream. haha I didn't dislike the thought of it, but for sure, I'd get a bunch of haters, so I'd better not. LOL
