Harvesting and peeling of cassava from my Aunty's farm.

Hello hivers today I made an effort to visit my aunty's farm along side my siblings for the harvesting of cassava to make garri, a processed form of cassava generally known as garri flakes.

Cassava when processed can either be used as garri, abasha( a local Nigerian dish which is made by people from the east) or fermented to make fufu as we call it here in Nigeria, it's when the peeled cassava is soaked and left for days to ferment, washed, left to drain off water, cooked and meshed together in a mortar. Although there are various forms to make fufu which is based on the region you are from in Nigeria.

The cassava after harvesting is peeled by removing the first two layer of the skin, leaving behind a more whitish colour which is what is needed in the making of garri and fufu and many others.
