Nature lives in the now and so do I, here is our Spring in the Kingdom of Fife!

in #hive-1277882 years ago

Hello Hello you amazing people of Hive

I like to think that I live in the now, and that makes me aligned to Nature, as we know Nature lives in the now.

So I would like to share with you some of the amazing nature that I have found in my local park in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland over the last week or so.

This post will also form as my entry for the Amazing Nature Contest: FREE TOPIC - #1/5/22 from the Amazing Nature community

The park is Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy. The park has many features and one of these is a boat pond, however during Covid the boats were put away and the birds took over. We have a pair of resident mute swans, Stevie and Susie Swan. Do you know who this is pictured below?

IMG_0550.JPG

If you said that it was Stevie then give yourself a pat on the back. The males and females are identical in markings, the male tends to be a little bit larger. However during the breeding season the black knob at the base of the male's bill swells and is noticeably larger than the female's. So this is actually Stevie.

Behind Stevie is an island and that is where Susie is with her nest.

Last Sunday, there were actually some boats on the boat pond, and it was a local model club, big boys and their toys so a bit of human nature this Spring!

IMG_0541.JPG

Peekaboo, I was focusing on taking some bud shots to show spring is here, and nature is bringing a new lease of life to the trees, but I had a cute wee surprise.

IMG_0527.JPG

I find trees fascinating, the fact that some never lose their leaves, some bloom early some never bloom. Nature really does show us how amazing she is.

IMG_0533.JPG

When we go for a park walk, we feed the ducks and swans in the pond, then come and sit in this little secret garden on the benches. It is an ideal spot to eat sandwich and feed the animals putting food on the rocks. The trees also provide wonderful photo opportunities.

IMG_0531.JPG

Do you see this fluffy wee Eurasian blue tit who was eying up the food on the rocks!

IMG_0518.JPG

I love red leaves, they give an autumnal feel even though it is Spring!

IMG_0525.JPG

Starlings remind me of a disco ball with their sparkling colourings!

IMG_0509.JPG

This was a gorgeous Jackdaw keeping an eye on me, they often hang around in little groups and come to eat in twos and threes!

IMG_0505.JPG

Those colours, nature just showing how amazing she really is!

IMG_0495.JPG

Now look who is here to say hello!
Do you know the name of this bird?

IMG_0491.JPG

It is a she, and she is actually a female black bird, the males are the traditional black blackbirds, but the females are brown!

IMG_0487.JPG

I was told to include Susie as she was determined not to be left out!

IMG_0453.JPG

This is where I put the food and who comes first? Yes Percy 1 and Percy 2, they are greedy so and so's!

IMG_0472.JPG

The swans love to build their nest out of reeds and if possible on water where they can guard it easily.

IMG_0450.JPG

What would spring be without daffodils, here there are loads, and they are so colourful!

IMG_0433.JPG

The swans were wanting fed, so I duly gave them their nutritious food pellets.

IMG_0434.JPG

What a view, I just find water do peaceful and another of nature's gift when the sun glistens off the surface!

IMG_0455.JPG

This was a lovely trail through the daffodils.

IMG_0433.JPG

With all the winter winds, you never what state the trees will be left in come Spring.

IMG_0401.JPG

When I walk through here, I always think that this would be a perfect place for beavers.

IMG_0387.JPG

Flowers, you know spring is here and summer is coming, when there are wildflowers everywhere, and the colour is gorgeous!

IMG_0396.JPG

Buds, spring is of course bud time, and these were beauties.

IMG_0297.JPG

Sammy tucking into lunch, he is Sammy the squirrel and a wee cutie! Looks at his wee claws really grabbing hold of the rock!

IMG_0286.JPG

Yes I am watching you, and have your picture to show the readers Sammy!

IMG_0248.JPG

They are just so cute, squirrels when they have their sitting and eating position!

IMG_0283.JPG

Of course, wait long enough and the scavengers will appear, in this case a seagull. They are a pest here but a protected species, so we have to shoo them away!

IMG_0237.JPG

I will leave you with a tangled web of wood!

IMG_0218.JPG

Nature is really amazing. I hope that you enjoyed my tour of my local park in spring for you! Please note that ALL pictures are taken by me!

So many interesting animals in the park, there are no parks like these here, it would be nice to go to one.

I especially like Stevie Swan, so beautiful.

Yes we are lucky and I make the most of it, there is lots of beauty here and it is great my new camera can zoom into the trees and take great pictures!
Stevie Swan is gorgeous and I shall be seeing him tomorrow, I have already got his food packed in my bag!

you guys are truly lucky, I wish I could experience nature more but it's so unsafe here.

Say hello to Stevie for me 😊

Well I could not go to see him today, they have some charity fun runs so the park is full of people and I will do it tomorrow!
Yes I remember my days in West African I was a bit crazy and never thought about my own safety, I would go and wander anywhere!

Oh, I understand, I wouldn't want to be in a crowded place either, tomorrow it is then.

I wish I had the mind to wander like you did, I barely go out of my route even.

and it will be tomorrow again, as today the park was full of charity runners again :(

What is going on, a lot of things happening in the Park
