Hello music lovers and Hello hivers!
It's Tuesday which means I need my inspiration time!!
Have you ever been wound up by someone that you wanted to strangle them?
Me, honestly I can't remember the last time that happened. I tend to blank or blot out things that are negative.
But for some reason a particular group popped into my head this morning!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday
Where to start
Golden Brown popped into my head about ten minutes ago!
I have no fluffing idea where from!
Of course the band have had umpteen singles and albums over the years. I have seen them a few times and one of my favourite bands.
I since discovered it is actually over 20 UK single hits and 20 albums!
They still tour but with a completely different lineup from their heydays!
Who are The Stranglers
The Stranglers were an iconic English punk rock band formed in 1974.
The Stranglers were one of the most popular bands of the British punk movement in the 70s and they continued to have success for fifty years albeit their sound has mellowed out a bit!
I saw them a few times over the years and they have a pretty distinctive sound.
Like many bands and musicians it is their early stuff that I like.
I think people will recognise Hugh Cornwell on vocals for example!
Tune 1 The Stranglers - Golden Brown
I remember this as my mother loved it without knowing it was actually about the big H yes Heroin!
Although some people insist it was about a woman.
If you listen to the lyrics you can make a case for either camp!
It was released in 1981 and one of their most recognisable songs.
Today we are focusing on tunes from their first two albums.
Tune 2 The Stranglers - No More Heroes
We are going back four years to 1977 and the song No More Heroes was released in September 1977 as a single from their second studio album of the same name, yes you go it No More Heroes.
This song is considered one of the band's most popular and recognizable tracks. Probably why it is one that popped into my head.
It is known for its driving rhythm, catchy melody, and provocative lyrics. The lyrics being a cynical commentary on the state of the world, with the band lamenting the lack of "heroes" in modern society. Even now 50 years later I think it is as more apt as ever.
I mean where are the heroes? I see plenty of anti-heroes!
There really are so many tunes to pick from, and I spent an hour listening to see what I should pick for you!
But fluff it, stick with your gut, is what I tell people!
So here is my original third choice!
Tune 3 The Stranglers - Peaches
Peaches was released in 1977 as a single from their debut album Rattus Norvegicus.
It just shows how much times have changed as it was banned by the BBC due to its sexually suggestive lyrics and themes. Fluff me give me a break.
Well we do use peaches as a emoji now don't we...
But for me it is the distinctive bassline that wsa composed by Jean-Jacques Burnel that gets me!
Which was your favourite? Or is it another Stranglers tune?
Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant happy and prosperous New Year in 2025 and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶
Thanks for visiting!
