Sea Air is good for the sole, well my soul!

in #hive-1063163 years ago

Hola Hello Hivers, how has the week been treating you?

Well Scotland and I guess much of the UK has been getting hammered with rain and high winds lately. It has been almost a week of rain and winds here and we are getting hit by Storm Dudley, with Storm Eunice on it's way.

I remember as a kid, winter was winter, and storms, gales etc were all part and parcel of a British winter. Now it seems they have to name everything and we get hit by storm after storm.

As we say one hoolie is pretty much like any other hoolie.

This morning I spotted a wee break in the clouds and went for a quick stroll down to the beach.

The view from my front door. I will turn left and head down the hill. The ground is still wet, but at least it is dry for now!

The football stadium is that of Raith Rovers, who have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Raith Rovers is a community club and the community does not take kindly when they transfer in a convicted rapist on a transfer. Chaos has ensued. Demonstrations, resignations, the women team leaving en masse, TV cameras outside my front door, the so-called first minister of Scotland getting involved.

Well enough of that, we need to get that salt air!

And there it is, that only takes me seven minutes, and I am lucky as on the left is a Lidl supermarket and on the right is a Morrison's supermarket, they are handy. The Lidl's is only about three months old, but provide good competition.

The sea air does wonders for my sole soul , yes we can't do strike through in the titles in our posts lol.

The sea air also makes me grow tall!

I was reading the post from Fiona earlier on unicorns and it got me to thinking about the pandemic and working.

image.png

The wee burn that leads into the sea, and like water our lives keep flowing.

It has been two years since the start of the pandemic, and during that time, I have been working on and off and all of it has apart from the odd day has been working from home. I must confess I quite like it. At the start of the pandemic, I did my bit for the environment and sold my car. I do enjoy the freedom of working from home, and I am in two minds whether I want to go back to an office envoronment.

We are probably going to have all our restrictions from Covid lifted next week or early next month at the latest, so I have to decide whether I am happy working from home with less income or going back to the 9 to 5 monotony and more income.

image.png

Times are a changing, but one of the great things being silver, is that I have become less and less materialistic, so there is no need for a larger income. Gone are the days when I spent silly money on suits, the designer gear days are also long gone lol.

It seems many of us are contemplating our next life moves and 2022 may well be an important year in more ways than one for all of us.

Now though, murder hill and a coffee are calling my name!

Have a wonderful rest of your week and thank you for reading!

you look like a giant in that shadow picture!

and yes, you are right... think this year is a year for thinking and planning on the next move as most of us have been stuck in the confines of our home these past two years... and I'm getting crazier every day because of it!

And do stay warm!

hehe I am a giant and I know it 🤣🤣🤣

You crazy .... never 😁 pero oo crazy being cooped up against our wills, it is different if it is our choice!

Heating on full blast, and I finally hear the wind has died down at last 😀

the post is just a little taller than you hahaha I wonder how small I am if I stand beside you hahaha

the wind died down? can you still breathe? 😳🤣

haha I was a giant, oh I don't know, you might reach waist high🤣
The wind died, although the boiler not working so no heat🤣🤣🤣

Stay warm and have a great weekend!

just saw this quote and it made me laugh

I loved your walk along the sea, you made me remember my walks along my beaches. Sea air with a salty smell.
Your photo of the shadow is cool. There is a shadow contest where you can participate with this kind of spectacular shadows. A hug my friend.

Thanks gertu, ah yes I have seen the contests and I think I entered one once.
Yes sea air and salt smell is a great combination. I hope you enjoyed remembering your walks!

oh yeahh!

So true the times they are changing.
I think many are thinking about is it really worth to gain more money for spending it on a car for driving to the job? ;-) great that you Sold yours. Mine is just standing around. But could not give it away somehow.
Thanks for the "think about this" input :-)

Thanks for that, here in the UK there is a good public transport system that people should use. I am not sure what it is like in Austria, but people have too many cars, yet complain about climate change, uff I won't rant about it 🤣
I hope you have a good think and thanks for popping in😁

It is yet to start raining over here, but of recent the weather form as if it's about to fall which I know soon it will start raining again

I hope that you get some rain soon!

I like your view, I love the Avila view but nothing like the sea and the sea breeze to feed the soul. That picture of your shadow is too cool 😻

Cheers ☕️ for that decision whatever it is. Let it be the one that makes you happy. :)

Great place to only have this at 7 minutes away… the sea air does do wonders. It’s refreshing and gives you new energy. I’m in a slightly warmer place but always close to the sea.

Yes things and life changed a lot the last years. Especially the result of the pandemic. Most people had to adjust their life’s, work etc. And more and more I’m hearing they like working from home. Their needs changed…

Yes I believe there is a positive in everything, and I think the pandemic has made us evaluate our lives and what we do.

Yes I think you have a warmer weather than us, South Africa I think?

But, yes I think regardless of the country, the sea does energise us😁

I do too, believe that. Our values shifted big time.

Nope, just southern Spain 😉
I do notice, I’m an energy kind of person, the feel of the Atlantic is so different than the Mediterranean Sea. The Atlantic is more rejuvenating. I get more energy from it.

Ah yes, you are in Andalucia, which part? I spent many years on and off in different parts of Andalucia and loved the warmer weather, but you are so right. The Med and the Atlantic are so different, you really do feel the power of an Ocean, it is like a big brother to the little sea🌊🌊🌊

You know it well then. I moved around a lot too.
I immigrated from the Netherlands to Spain January 2015, moved in the last 7 years 13 times hahaha
From Iznajar (Cordoba province) to Malaga, Sedella, Arenas, Sayalonga, then Cádiz province, Sotogrande, Tarifa, Cádiz city and now between Marbella and Estepona. (With a year Malta in between and few moves😉) So I saw a lot and experienced different areas in Andalucia.
I do like the right sight of Malaga the best. Less touristy. Towards Salobreña.

It sure is… 🌊
