Some people are happier when it rains, others’ moods tend to shift and they become blue (sad or down). How do you usually feel on rainy days and what are your favorite things to do?
I love the rain when I'm indoors. I love the rain when it's holidays or weekends or day off work, because I know I wouldn't have to step out. The rain makes me happy. It makes me feel alive. It makes the earth feel alive and it sort of symbolizes new life. I look forward to rain. I anticipate the sound of rain hitting the roofs or the ground. I anticipate the smell of wet earth. I anticipate the cool breeze caressing my skin and I get to dress up in my favorite attire, sweater and trousers. Though, I'm not a fan of the muddy roads and slushy paths, I accept that it's an aftereffect of rain and we just have to deal with it.
My favorite things to do when it's raining is letting my imagination run wild, reading a book, watching a movie, or sleeping. You know what we call the rainy weather?? We call it weather for two. That means it's a weather to spend with your boo or bae. But for we, the single Pringles, we can only dream and imagine how it must feel like to be cuddled up with your loved one with a duvet covering the both of you. You get to talk about a lot of things, gist, watch a movie or share warm kisses with your loved one. So, while I might not have a loved one in reality, I have him in my imagination and I unleash him whenever it's raining.
Also, I think the rain is solely meant for books and tea. So, when it's raining, I like to prepare a hot cup of tea, biscuits and go to my e-library to select a book that suits the weather. With the tea in my hands, and the book, and me wrapped in a warm covering and the rain hitting the roof, it's a warm experience. It's like an out of this world experience. I also like to watch movies sometimes. I prefer to watch sci-fi or fantasy movies when it's rainy. It just sort of fits. Horror movies?? Not so much.
As we all know, sleeping hits different when it's raining. There's just some kind of peace that comes with rain and sleep. I tend to feel rejuvenated when I wake up after sleeping during a rainfall. So, if I'm not caught reading or watching a movie, I would be caught sleeping definitely. Some of my acquaintances even call me ‘sleeper’.
These are my favorite things to do while it rains.
Yes, No or Maybe
A husband told his wife that he wishes her to say “okay” and “yes” to whatever he says to avoid further discussions and arguments. What would you do if you were in her shoes? Would you agree and nod to everything even when it's against your will or feelings? Please share your thoughts.
Ahem… I have to clear my throat first because if I were in her shoes, I would have disagreed even with my husband telling me to always agree with whatever he says. I would have stated my case with facts and if he still disagreed with me, then it means he just wants a puppet to control, and not a wife.
My coursemates, friends and acquaintances know me to be an outspoken and controversial person. I don't believe in shutting up just to keep the peace. I believe that not saying how you feel or always agreeing to everything could build anger and resentment.
And it's absurd for a husband to tell his wife to always agree to whatever he says because it kills the purpose of marriage. If I am wrong, I would like to be disputed in the comment section. Marriage is like a partnership where the decisions and choices of both parties stand. Partners are supposed to be free to say how they feel. They are supposed to complement each other, adding up to where the other might be lacking, like bread and butter, honey and tea. When a decision is to be made; something that could affect the family as a whole, it is prominent for both husband and wife to put heads together and come to a decision as one.
It might be said that men are the ones who thinks logically while women think emotionally. But for me, women tend to see all sides and situations to a particular thing. Women tend to weigh the pros and cons heavily. Men see stuff as one way, it's either black or white, no in-between. I have seen my dad ask my mum her opinion before taking a decision countless times. Sometimes, he might be pigheaded and want to do things his way. But at the end of the day, he mostly resorts to my mum for solutions. And I think that's how it works, a husband seeking the opinion of his wife before making a decision.
My advice to this woman is to sit him down and state her case. She has to tell him why it's not wise or advisable to always agree to whatever he says. And if he still insists, I must say they have to see a marriage counselor or start looking towards separation. Because marriage is a partnership and a collaboration, not a situation of a master holding the strings to a puppet. It's not a situation of military rule or dictatorship.
These are my thoughts on this scenario. Thank you.
