We've got a lot going on today on #Hive! First off it's #HivePUD or Hive Powerup Day. On the first of each month a lot of us like to add a little HP to our Hive accounts. I powered up almost every #HPUD last year, this year no so much.
For the most part, I tend to buy and sell in market cycles. Hive is no different for me. Generally when the price drops and it starts to look like a bottom is forming with some consolidation I'll purchase some Hive, start trading it, and add some gains to my HP every month.
I think I'm going to change that strategy for HP now. I think regardless of price, I'll keep adding to my HP. For the most part, once I convert Hive or #HBD into HivePower, I don't power down. I believe my last powerdown was when I finally got fed up with STEEM just before the hardfork. I was about done and stopped powering down when we forked to HIVE. Since that time, I've rebuilt my account and made the commitment to not powerdown. I probably will someday, but that will be a long way into the future because I'm pretty pleased with the direction this project has taken since the hardfork.
With that said, I think I'm going to start doing monthly HPUD's again regardless of Hive price. They'll be smaller but probably at least 20HP per month. It's just my way of giving back to the community and increasing my voting power. IMHO it's just the right thing to do.
A huge part of my focus and Hive goals for this year is to focus on that 12% APR for HBD savings. This month I added 32 HBD and 10 HBD interest claim to my HBD savings. I'm currently holding 598 in my HBD savings. My goal is to get to at least $1000 by the end of the year. I'll probably start converting my HIVE trading positions to HBD savings too when I'm not using it. So hopefully I'll have more than that by the end of the year.
As a general OpSec rule I usually don't post wallet balances but with Hive, your username is your wallet address. It's all public record anyway, so here it is.
HiveBloPoMo
I was a little quiet last month so I didn't earn a lot in rewards. With that said, I've been preparing for this months #HiveBloPoMo. If you don't know about the HiveBloPoMo, its a simple internet challenge to post something (quality content) to the Hive blockchain every day for the month of April. It's a great way to get in the habit of daily posting, a fun challenge, and at the end of the challenge you'll have thirty posts that could be earning Hive! On top of all that, participating is a great way to meet fellow Hivers who are also participating in the challenge. If you're already posting daily, make sure to add the #HiveBloPoMo tag to all your posts this month! This is my first post in this months HiveBloPoMo challenge.
FollowFriday
I haven't done a #FollowFriday in a long time so here goes. These are some accounts I really enjoy and would suggest you check out when you get some free time.
@steevc is a long time internet friend. We met back in the Tsu social network days and we came over to Hive together. He's a great guy posting about health and fitness, technology and his love of music and guitar. He's a very active Hivean and loves to interact with the community. If you're not following Steevc already, stop by his page and say hi.
@bill.prag also posts a lot about music and producing music along with more personal posts.
@magnacarta and @magnacarta.buzz is another active Hivean and fun @dbuzz user. General posting about current events, technology and very active Hive commenter. Definitely another fun Hivean to follow.
@daltono posts about gaming, cinema, photography and personal life stuff. If you're a gamer, my man's got you covered!
@cinetv is all about movie reviews. If you're into tv and movie reviews you want to follow this account. They've created a whole Hive based platform that covers cinema and tv.
I also have to shout out to @slobberchops who posts some really interesting content about urban exploration. I love reading those posts.
Well, that's all I got for this post. Expect a lot of posting from me this month. I've also got a lot of vlogging content coming this month as well. Thanks for reading and happy Friday and happy HPUD everyone!
