It really hadn't dawned on me quite yet that we really are in February already that is until I typed in today's title. I guess it's time to kick things into a higher gear to start getting my yearly goals on track. Here in the US the big event of the weekend is the Super Bowl tomorrow, and it's all I seem to hear about on the sports channels and even news channels. I don't have a real favorite team of the two, but it should be a good game with two tough teams playing. There is a huge amount of money wagered on the event, and I hope some of you come out big winners tomorrow!
I started to participate with the Saturday Savers community last year and have really enjoyed it. You set a primary and secondary goal for the year here on Hive and give weekly updates on your progress. I have found it helps me focus more on what I need to achieve those goals. I recommend it to everyone here, it a great group! So I guess it's time to dive into yet another #saturdaysavers post, although the header I produced for this morning might have tipped you all off just a little.
Here we go...!
Hive Power
This is my primary goal, I have set my initial HP goal for the year at 10,000, thinking it should be easily accomplished. Then the price of Hive shot up, making it a bit more difficult, but still a doable task. I have increased my HP by 67 this week and currently have 6,735 staked Hive. I'll likely need to convert more HBD to Hive this year to get myself closer to that 10K line. I'm hoping that this will be a benchmark and then push even higher, we'll see how it goes!
Currently I am 67.4% of the way there!
PIMP
This year my secondary goal is to reach 50K staked PIMP and it feels very doable. This week I didn't pick up any additional PIMP, but will buy some more in the next week. Additionally, I earn from post and tips which should propel me along as well. As of this morning I have 34,859 PIMP, I am at 69.6% of the final goal. I expect to be picking up some bigger chunks in the near future.
Leo
This year I set a goal to reach 5,000 staked LEO. At 5,000 staked LEO you can receive 6 stake based curations in a month, whereas I can only receive 4 at 2,000 staked LEO. LEO is still affordable and I'm earning from my posts as well. I have just about 2,376 at the moment.
EDSI
My goal this year is to reach 200 EDSI, I really need to buy at least two a week to make this wish a reality. Again, I only picked up one this week as well as last, so I'll need to pickup six this week to catch up. I have just over 106 right now, so 53% completed in the goal.
It's shown steady growth over time, and seems to be a smart investment from my point of view. It offers weekly Hive dividends and curations on your posts which is a bonus.
DUO
Time to shill my favorite token, DUO. However, since I helped create it I may be a little biased! About six months ago along with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools we created the DUO token to help fill voids in the Hive community. The purpose of the token is to accumulate enough Hive Power to be able to use a portion to support new onboards and help retain them through encouragement and with curations. We currently have about 36,787 HP in the curation account, we are actively onboarding and always looking for more quality onboards.
Our guest author program is allowing Hive members to earn by posting original content on the duo-curator account. Please see our latest duo-curator posts for rules and information on how to participate. You can receive half of the earnings from the post plus five DUO tokens and if you want we can even pay you out in DUO tokens to build your personal stash.
We also have a new number guessing game in our update posts where you can win some free DUO. Each day you can check out the posts from @duo-curator for a chance to win some tokens!
DUO token holders receive by far the greatest benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily liquid Hive dividends. Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!
I currently have just over 1.400 of these and will be continuing to purchase them. Once this tranche of tokens sells out the price will jump from one Hive to 1.5 Hive each, and it's steadily selling out. My advice is to buy in early while they are less expensive! Plus you will make money as soon as this batch sells out due to the price increase! Last tranche sold out really fast once it hit 10K remaining, don't say I didn't warn you! All Hive from token purchases is locked into Hive Power and will never be powered down.
CAV
CAV is a token created to help out veterans of military service here on Hive. It doesn't matter what country you served in, only that you are a veteran like myself. This token does pay out a daily liquid Hive dividend to holders, and proceeds will go towards helping veterans. I've only bought 7 so far but will be increasing my stake in the very near future. It's a great investment and you can help out those who have served in the military, a two for one deal! This is the brainchild of @enginewitty , so you trust it's a great project.
DBOND and DAB
I'm still enjoying watching my DBOND and DAB tokens grow. It's a nice program that builds up over time earning you more money with essentially no effort. Staked DBOND tokens pay out DAB tokens, which you can stake to get paid out more DBOND tokens. Alternatively you can leave DAB unstaked to receive liquid Hive instead. These are proving to be a great investment! My current DBOND balance is 274 and DAB balance is 53. Just like they their motto, getting rich slowly!
RUG
Rug is a token that earns income outside of Hive using liquidity pools and brings the proceeds back into Hive, 75% of earnings are paid out to RUG holders in the form of DBONDs. I only have two at the moment, but plan to pick up some more when I have some more funds that aren't earmarked for something else.
SIM
SIM token is the governance token for the dCity game which I do play. I earn some daily SIM from my holding in the game. I hold just over one million of these but don't plan to buy more at the moment. You do receive daily Hive dividends for holding the token once you are over a certain amount which I honestly don't recall. You can look it up! However they cut rewards by half recently so instead of investing more I'll just hold what I currently own and collect what I can from playing the game.
POB
Proof of Brain token is one that I earn from my posts I am staking and then delegating them to pob.voter. In return once a week I receive a liquid Hive dividend from them, which is always welcome. I currently have delegated out 1,336 POB tokens. I don't plan on buying any extra here, just earn off of the tokens I receive for posting.
BBH and BBHO
These are great tokens started by @bradleyarrow . BBH is a tipping token which allows daily tips depending on how many you hold, I have over 50K now which gives me 50 daily tips to give which I never manage to exhaust. It feel great being able to give tips out daily that you don't have to count carefully as you are unlikely to run out. Additionally, Saturday is drip day from BBH where you receive some bonus tokens depending on how much BBH you hold. I also give away 100 BBH weekly in my weekly HSBI contest, so make sure to enter by tomorrow!
BBHO is a nice token that pays out weekly payouts of various tokens if you stake your BBHO, even DUO if you hold over 2,000 (which I do!) I currently have 2,689 staked BBHO. I'm planning on having at least 5K stacked up by year's end of this token.
Silver
Silver had a nice push up this week, followed by a little pullback. The precious metals are proving to be a great place to invest this year. Gold looks likely to push through $3,000 per Troy ounce very soon! Silver will likely see continued price increases as well, and I'm bullish on both products!

These South African produced silver beauties are on sale at APMEX for only $34.35, but there is a caveat. The year will be random, so basically whatever they have in stock. Realistically you are paying about $2.50 over the spot price of silver each, which is a great deal for a silver Krugerrand! Plus they are really pretty!
