The location of the venue was in pelaez sports complex, this area can fit thousands of people inside of the place. From Iligan going to Cagayan De Oro City, it takes 3 Hours of traveling depends on how crowded or traffic the street is. After arriving at the sports complex , I was very amazed of the place very clean and wide. A little later, the activities has been started.
The Municipality Representatives:
- Municipality of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.
- Municipality of Naawan, Misamis Oriental.
- The Municipality of Initao, Misamis Oriental.
- The Municipality of Libertad, Misamis Oriental.
These are some of the Municipality Representatives during the Kuyamis activities. Street Dancing is very popular here in the Philippines particularly in Iligan and Cagayan De Oro City. Many colorful costumes, ethnic and traditional dance can be seen including the way and culture of the Native or residents in the place.
The Word "Kuyamis" which means "Coconut". This is one of the most primary source of income here in Misamis Oriental particularly in Cagayan De Oro City area. Some residents who owned a farm land are planting more coconut trees and sell or harvested coconuts within 2 or 3 months.
We will proceed to the street dancing activities.
I was really amazed of the different kinds of colorful decorations during the Kuyamis Festival activities. The props are well prepared and the dance presentation was very wonderful also. There are many people watched and witnesses the big event in Cagayan De Oro City. Some of the vloggers and bloggers were also there and their are also lots of photographer taking more pictures.
Most of the costumes or props they used was made of endogenous materials so it means it is made of recycled or simple materials like coconut husks, coconut shells, coconut skin or Ginit and a cardboard with a shape of coconuts. I truly says that is is very unique and the designers are very creative by creating this masterpiece.
The street dancers did their best to do a unique and perfect street dancing presentation and as for this, this can give their Municipality a great name and to be well known all over the place.
The Drummers:
The Street dancing will not be completed without drums and the personels who make music with the use of percussion instruments.
This group of men have a great contributions to the Activities. They are the one who make music using their wind and percussion instruments. This is very traditional every street dancing activities and they played the instruments very well.
The Provincial Capitol personels are very thankful to all people who participated, witnessed and giving their dance presentation to the community. The Kuyamis festival was successfully ended and it remains the great and wonderful memories of the Filipino People especially, Misamisnon.
