A new friend makes fortresses much easier
"Are you in need of some hired help on your journeys, friend?" Vorstag was out looking for work and happened to cross paths with Orcanorc, offering to help out for a fee of 500 gold.
"Yes I do need some help, to make my questing and journeys to be easier. Consider yourself hired" announced Orcanorc in response to Vorstag.
The pair depart along the road to only stop for a nice view of the night sky, the mountains and the fog that adds to its beauty.
It is a nice thing to experience while traveling the roads to the next destination but unfortunately.. it must end as they head to the Broken Tower Redoubt and the Forsworn that occupy it.
Now he was accompanied and the adventure success rate has drastically increased and upon reaching this fortress, it was clear the Forsworn had taken over it and it was like this area in the Markarth section, had them as the main raider sort of group which were a nuisance.
"Hmph you are weak and no challenge for me" claimed Vorstag as he easily took out the Forsworn member with only one or two swings needed, from Orcanorc.
Another was shooting arrows from up a bit higher. This required going around and up to the same level and allowed a quick, easy disposal with the dual wielding one hand combo that is staying slaying enemies.
"Ha, see Vorstag? See just how strong I can be as well? We are going to be a dangerous pair" Orcanorc said before they both laughed and headed inside.
It is good when the combination of someone getting right in there while another uses some magic and they take a stronger foe like the magic using forager, out without too much hassle. Some healing for that initial damage received before the final blows put the Forager down.
These two were majorly out for the smell of blood spilled and the killing continued, to make sure these no good Forsworn cannot continue their rampage of killings.
A small group were fought not too much further in and one was executed. Vorstag was dealing with one while the execution took place and could not be interrupted.
"Some breathing room to loot up now, let's get a fair share each since we are in this together and we cannot be greedy, to only look after ourselves" Vorstag advised which was followed by a nod of Orcanorc being agreed upon this.
There was some gold lying about which is always welcome even if there isn't heaps, the chest wasn't too exciting but the Scroll of Mirror Entity would sell nicely and maybe even be useful, at some point.
The pair start to climb higher in the fortress through the next section. Yet another Forager to be dealt with and the magic is not nearly as strong, as the frost shooting staff looted from a corpse previously. Add in the slowness enemies feel at the same time before seeing Orcanorc come in swinging and you got your dead Forsworn.
"Oh goodie there is another staff here for me to use when fighting, maybe even dual wielding them" said Orcanorc.
It was nearing the end of this place judging by the amount they have cleared and that was to be even more of a clearing, after taking out some weak Forsworn before heading back outside and into the next section.. but this was going to be a tougher fight that was about to be happening.. for they happen to be up against the Forsworn Briarheart which is basically a boss for the group.
After being burned down so quickly after the fight had started, Orcanorc rushed to cover to heal on up before dying and just in time.
The shock blasts of the fireballs were big and almost putting them into a dazed state and this was even when away from the blasts.
"Now it's our turn to come back at you and show you what we got" Vorstag shouted as they both rushed in to do damage quickly and watch Orcanorc get the final blow on this deadly enemy.
Looting was done for all gold and potions, any learning books to skill up and then use the Shrine of Dibella to get blessed and diseases cured.
Finally and an important part of the quest was to save Logrolf the Willful which with some gold persuading to follow him where ever was required, it was time to head back to Markarth and the abandoned house where Logrolf would meet them next.
