When asking what should we fill up next? The way the fingers fold and one finger rests on the cheek. The look up and hmm or ehh. The way I get in trouble for thinking I am doing what I should be doing. The some days she has nothing to say and goes all shy. The way you know she wants to say something but doesn't know what to say.
There is this thing of trying to scare the bejeazus out of me. If there is a chance, sneaking up behind me to make me jump in a have to do it seems.
There are many of the kids that come to the shop and I help them with a Euro or so if they are short. Listen to their tales and let them spin their yarn. If ye ever see a lame donkey, These kids probably talked the hind legs of it. In general the youth of all ages are respectful around the shop. There is always an exception we won't go to.
Rea, well I get something back there when she smiles. Her smile for whatever reason is worth a thousand of anyone else. There is many here on the blockchain I have given to. That was the same thing, for the smiles. The same reason I wrote rhymes and stuff.
But today. Today I think I panicked.
Well, panicked might not fully fit the picture. Back before, I had got Rea a Hello Kitty Loom making set. Well truth, I had it, heard she was in hospital and thought, that it might make her smile. Also might give her and mom something to do together and pass an evening.
Not sure if I told you about the make up or not. If not let me know I will write about that. She was piking out a make up set that had been on the shelf for a year. I figured I would ask dad if it was okay for her to have make up stuff or not. It is okay, but what did I know. Last thing I want is mom or dad shouting at me. Well anyways, that was another pressie.
Now Christmas is upon us. I should have started saving last year for next year. I was crafty enough to buy the year before for this year. Well almost. I bought a dragon chest the year before.
The dragon chest. Now that one is old and tattered now, broken in parts. So I got a new one for the pressie.
I might have over did this, maybe not. Might be baby bear. I didn't want to give a present, like say a doll from the store that she didn't like or already had. Jewellery and perfume no. Way to young for that stuff. Actually supplied by This Lady. If you use facebook, Go there and tell her you seen her advertised here.
Think I ordered back in November to replace the one I broke parts of. Rea was not in mind at the time. I got two, The second one went to my niece. Won't be from me though, it will just be under the tree with no name at the from. The other to Rea.
Ye can see there in the picture the Dragon comes off with the lid of the chest. All about the smile. The smile should get bigger. I think everyone enjoys to find a little treasure. The chamber inside is not big at all and a dollar of pennies would fill it just about.
Inside the chest I put the treasure. Back years ago now. @steemsilvergold ran a contest and you could win a Silver ounce dollar. An ounce of silver about a dollar coin size. Shiny silver, I might have been the only one that entered. As it happens I somehow won and provided my address. Sure enough it came in the mail. I put that coin in the base of the chest. Sprinkle a few pennies place a small gold cross. Sprinkle a few pennies, place a folded up €5 in there and cover with pennies and a couple of foreign coins.
Repackaged and then wrapped in Christmas paper. I knew I couldn't trust Mom and Dad bot to let her open the pressie before Chrimbo mornin'. So, If you remember way back when, the nice spoken lady who brought Rea around to the shop by the hand. I gave the pressie to her and asked if she would mind to pass it in on Christmas day. My own opinion is, there is more magic around Christmas mornin' than at most other times of the year, if not the most.
In digging through the chest. Though small. I hope each find brings the smile back or brightens the one already there.
So where is the panic?
Well. Walking around looking busy while doing nothing. Daddy bear came in to the store. He is a nice chap. Knows Rea helps me out now and then. which thinking about it now kind of makes me feel proud that I am trusted with her safety around the shop. Dad asked if I would be around tomorrow. I said I would be dropping down sometime. Which I do each Sunday or most when I take baby Coolio out for a stroll.
Dad. Great, she's got a little present for you.
Then until now that has thrown me for six. What on earth would she be thinking to get me.
Maybe a play shop set? Shop stuff is all we do.
A pen. I had mentioned I needed a pen. Would she remember that?
Socks? lol isn't that the normal for old folks to get.
It matters not much. Amazed I am, charmed that she thought to get me a present. With so much else going on and the excitement of this time of year for the young. I know one thing for sure though. The present I get will be a greater treasure than the one I gave.
