When It Rains, It Pours- Lost My Dad and Car Breaks Down

in #inleo9 days ago

It's been one of those weeks for sure. I lost my Dad (64 y/o) at 05:21 on Tuesday morning with me holding his hand and my Mom's hand on his chest. It was the end of a long, hard 2 years from the time he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that started in his prostate and spread to the bone that had been misdiagnosed and mistreated as a chronic UTI for over a year. On top of that he had also been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which brings a whole other layer of complications.

Anyway, needless to say, it's been a sad week this week. The day he died, we had torrential down pours all day. My thought was that the world was crying because we lost a great one! My dad was probably the most creative person I have ever known. He could build anything out of nothing and make it look amazingly funky all at the same time. There wasn't really any limits to what he could do.

It was a blessing that I was able to move home and help Mom take care of him for the past year. It's been a hard road, but one of love and forgiveness all around. Not many people get the opportunity to have that kind of closure. Anyway, I am just happy and relieved more than anything right now that his suffering is over and he was able to see all of his family for the most part, as well as old friends and have that closure with them during the Thanksgiving weekend, so he passed having that peace.

How Much More?

That is my question. Because not only have we been dealing with all this, but after leaving the funeral home yesterday and making a quick stop, the truck breaks down. I was able to get it cranked back up and went to the last shop that worked on it. They said I had to take it to the dealership. Well, it started again, so we went just down the street for lunch, and that is where I couldn't get it to crank back up.

At least it is throwing a new code than before, so they have a bit more of an idea of what to look at. So we had to tow it to the dealership and can't get it in the shop until Monday. Mom is heading now to get a rental car to use because it is currently only one vehicle. Which will be changing VERY soon, lol. Especially after this. The one car thing has worked until now, lol.

That's all I can really do is just laugh at the situation, because it's just the kind of shit that would happen to me. But that's life, right? At least the markets are pumping and we are making money, that helps. But I shouldn't jinx myself either, lol. So incase you were wondering what has been happening with the dude, here it is. Thank you for reading my sad ramblings.

I plan on flying my little whoop today so be expecting some new FPV drone video coming up!

Until then...

Be cool, be real, and always abide my dudes!

I'm sorry for your loss, man... 🙏
It looks like it was a bit too many things for a week... I hope things will go in a better direction! The sun has to come out, eventually...

Yeah, I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment for sure.

It's been a tough few years—I'm sure, and I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad you're reconnecting with family and being at peace with your own struggles. I'm trying to do the same with my family.

God bless your father and I hope things improve greatly soon.

Thanks man. Yeah, kind of one thing after another. Hopefully we are at the end of this long hard road and can detour onto a better path!
