It has been a while since I posted ... mainly because I have been busy trying to organise a passport in the most dysfunctional bureaucratic country in the world.

Nothing fancy today .... just a mix of old favorites...

This song is the speed at which Lemmy lived his life, full throttle and no stopping.

How many "serious" songwriters would kill to come up with this? Riff, groove and soul equals jaw dropping perfection. Drums of course are blindingly good.
Motorhead is like a soporific for me... when I am tense, angry or depressed I just put the vinyl on... crank up the volume and 30 minutes later I am as placid as a sleeping cat
Cream - White Room

What a lot of folks do not understand. It was not just the music. It was the feeling, energy, spirit, and so much more. You could see and feel in the sixties. Just walking around the village in NY was a experience. I guess you had to been their to understand! Ps. I was at the farewell show in New Haven. Only feet leaning on the stage from Clapton. I was the one who ran on stage and took a Ginger Baker drum stick. The good old days! No! They never caught me!

Two groups that really started the "harder edge" of Rock, aside from what the Beatles and the Stones did, that greatly changed where rock was going after the 60s were (IMO) Cream and The Doors. They do get some credit but not enough, and another band that doesn't get enough credit for their level of greatness is CCR, namely John Fogerty. I know he shunned the other members, (even his own brother Tom), but he did run that band top to bottom, beginning to end, as opposed to say Zep, that was mainly started all by the name Jimmy Page, and The Yardbirds, but with Zep it took all 4 to make them what they were.
Amazing number from an amazing band !! It is ridiculously hot here for the past week ... I ran once only and that was three days ago... still trying to recover. So in recognition of the climate we play out with Asia
Asia - Heat of the Moment
Have a safe, joyful weekend ... remember to live in the moment and love the one you are with !!
