What could happen if you do things out of the norm?, there's only one way to find out and that is by doing things out of the norm.
Growing up, Jackie was an adventurous child. Her growth as a toddler was fast. Within 12 months after birth, Jackie was already showing signs of walking and a few months later she was trying to repeat words that came to her hearing. Her parents understood her growth process and were intentional about her training. Thankfully, she was the first child.
Being so adventurous even as a kid required more guidance from her parents. There was a time Jackie tried sticking her head through the space under the handrail. Luckily, her mom was close by; the result would have been disastrous.

Another time when Jackie was about 4 years old, she got home from school and told her parents that she doesn't want to eat food anymore. When asked her reason, she said she wants to feel what it felt like to live without eating food forever; funny right? But she was serious about it. She only changed her mind when her dad explained to her that she could fall asleep forever if she didn't eat food (death) and Jackie didn't like the idea of sleeping. She always wanted to be active.
In high school, she was a friend to many. She engaged in lots of extracurricular activities in school and she was pretty good at them. Sporting activities like swimming had her heart. She held the number one position in her school's swimming team throughout her high school years; always beating her previous records every year. Representing her school during external competitions wasn't a big deal as she never lost any challenge.

After high school, she didn't want to go to college. She told her parents but that only brought disagreements. From childhood, her parents already planned how her life would be. In their plans, Jackie their adventurous daughter would certainly become a medical doctor; a gynecologist to be precise. But Jackie wasn't having any of that. She told them she wasn't going to take on a career she didn't love as that would only end up in years of regret. She was really self aware but her parents weren't happy about it. A typical argument session would go thus:
Mom: Hey Jackie, I saw an ad on the College of Medicine's website. I think you should apply.
Jackie: Thank you mom but I'm not interested.
Mom: What do you mean by you aren't interested?
Dad: Jackie, what do you mean?
Jackie: I mean that I don't want to apply for an admission to a medical school.
Mom: Why are you so stubborn? This is the best plan for your future.
Jackie: This isn't the best plan for me. If you love me as you claim to, then let me choose my path.
Dad: (speechless - looks at mom and daughter)
Jackie: (walks off to her room)
13 months after their back and forth arguments, Jackie won her parents over. They came to understand that the life was truly hers to live and the best they could do for her was to guide her and not impose their personal dreams on her. The family was happy once again. Her dad then asked her what her plans for the future were and Jackie told them her newest interest.
Her mom screamed her name, Jackieeeeeeeeee.
You could hear that scream miles away from their house.
Guess what Jackie's new interest was.......
