You know some people get excited about building and owning their very own business and usually what they imagine is being a final Boss, calling literally all the shots in the Business.
Well I've got a reality check for you dear friends, that's not a business, you just created another job for yourself.
You may think having all the power and making all the decisions will be fun until you actually start doing that and you would realize that it gets stressful and it's very limiting.
You cannot build a huge multinational business with that mindset and concept, it simply doesn't work like that.
In this blog, I would love to share with you the right path and in simple words: just like we have it here on Hive; Delegation.
You need to have the confidence to delegate power to the right and course trust worthy professionals to help run your business for you.
- I would love to share a video of my favorite millionaire entrepreneur talk about delegating in your business
- Here's another quality speech I think will further explain delegating very well l,. I hope you enjoy it.
Not only is it that when you become an entrepreneur, you get to be your boss but also being a servant of your business. I used to have the belief that once you would become a businessman, all power would be yours and there would be no restrictions on your freedom in the decisions of the business. But truth to say, the higher up you go, the more problems you have to solve.
If you’re an entrepreneur, then everything right from big things like which bank you are going to take a loan from all the way down to small issues like what brand of tea should be bought for the office will be decided by you.
All these decisions do not even belong in the same category; nevertheless, since you built this business, you mistakenly feel the need to make all those decisions.
There was this time when I thought that setting up your own business would lead you towards liberation and authority and now it is similar rather analogous in nature through building a prison for yourself. The deception here is that it's a beautiful gilded cage but it’s still captivity.
You got respect and your word is always final but you have the burden of making all decisions and that's very stressful.
The moment you are the boss, you become everyone’s answer man. You have to take decisions on every single thing and it could be too much sometimes.
At times, you would be so pressured you just want to be an employee again and let someone else handle all the stress and pressure.
Please learn how to delegate power in your Business
One of the greatest obstacles entrepreneurs face is learning how to delegate. It is difficult to permit others make decisions for your business as you relinquish control. Nonetheless, attempting to carry out all tasks alone can lead to quick exhaustion on your side.
One friend said to me that a team that focuses more on teamwork can beat a team with star players that do not communicate well and trust each other to make decisions for the entire team.
One of the lessons I have picked from this is that it’s not bad to ask for help, just as it’s okay to admit you don’t know everything. This is an important aspect if one wants his or her business to succeed.
Another thing is that it’s important to prioritize. Not all decisions are equally significant. There was a time when I could spend hours considering which font to use on our website. But now I think such issues don’t really matter in a larger view of things.
Instead, I consider the main point. When faced with a decision, my main thoughts are “Will this choice make my business better and prosperous? Will it please my clients? Will it solve problems of workers?” If yes then save some time on them otherwise let go of them without any stress.
In spite of everything, entrepreneurship is worth it. It’s the best thing to create something out of nothing and observe its progress. Besides, I don’t wish to change any bit if my freedom were not limited as much as I thought.
Therefore all you future entrepreneurs out there, I say this: go for it. But have a clear look at it. Although it won’t be simple; however, it will be a success in the long run. Just keep in mind that when things matter most, learn to pass on some duties and ask for assistance when necessary. And more importantly never forget to enjoy yourself along the way.
Thank you so much for your time and I hope this blog goes a long way to help you create a better group, company, team or business.
Remember guys, your goal is to create a business and not a job for yourself.
