Hunting for silver rounds
As my last purchase in actual silver was the 2023 Hive silver round by @silversaver888 a while ago, it was about time that I went hunting for a new coin to add to the collection. It took me a bit longer than I hoped but all for good reasons, life got a good upgrade in terms of living and I don't mind waiting a bit longer because of funds needed in real life. After we fully moved in to our new apartment, I finally started browsing online again for silver coins. Although I was aiming to get the new Australian myths and legends to add to my already 2 previous silver coins, I found an auction that seemed to be working in my favour.
Art and silver auctions
While I was visiting flea markets and keeping a close eye on the Asian art markets on this website, I couldn't resist checking the silver auctions at the same time. I kept an eye for the bidding that was going on early and last minute as well as check the final prices, while at the same time adding sellers to my favourite lists if I found them in Spain. After all, shipping fees suck!
Malta 2023 5 Euro
While I was not looking for anything in particular, it's funny how the universe made my eye fall on this 5 euro silver coin set of 2 from Malta. It was one of the few (at that time) which caught my eye in terms of beauty and where I actually hoped I could snatch it from the other bidders. I didn't bid immediately, I added it to favourites to come back later.
Even though I don't live in Malta, we had a very good winter holiday of a few days in Malta a few years ago, so in a way this silver will remind me of a very sweet memory in our lives and I think it's great that it's now part of my small silver collection which also includes a coin from Hungary (after living there 4,5 years), the coins I picked so far were supposed to be random but they turn out not so random after all.
So detailed
Even though the seller had not so great pictures in terms of detail as you can see in my own pictures, I was amazed by all the details already, and excited to find out that I won both coins for less than 50 euros. When the coins arrived, I was so happy because they are beautiful if you ask me, both sides even, which is new to me because until now I only admired one side of all the silver coins. Speaking of which, let's check out this beauty in more detail below.

It took me a while but today I signed up on the Numista website after I discovered that you can offer your coin or mention that you're looking for a coin. This made me think there's a possibility to trade coins with other members and as I have two of the golden eagle coins above, I would not mind trading one for another coin of similar value that I don't have yet.
Until a trade offer is on the table, I will take care of the both of them, I don't mind some double trouble at home, especially not if it means admiring some silver art every now and then.
That's all for today, thanks for stopping by and I hope you will have a lovely weekend..
The Golden Eagle coin pictures are my own, only the silver coin graphic in the left bottom of the header image was created with Canva Pro.
