Mis vivencias de los años 70. Concurso #104

in #hive-1244522 years ago

NOW IN ENGLISH

Hello dear ladies of this beautiful Community, here I am responding with much affection to the invitation that made me the friend @lisrl26, very grateful.

Since I am a few years older than her, I am going to talk about the 70's. (Two decades less than she talked about).

It is very nice to go back to that time, I will try to make a summary since there are too many experiences of those times.

I was the youngest daughter of 8 siblings, my parents were more permissive with me, however they were always attentive to my every move.
I would leave home for school at 6:45am, with an older brother.

At that time, I remember there were no cell phones to call us in case of any eventuality, in the house there was a phone with CANTV line, but my mom put a little padlock in the middle of the keys so no one could use it, but my brothers always managed, I don't know how but they would sneakily call girlfriends.

We left school at 12 noon every day and we had to be home no later than 12:20 noon, the school was relatively close, and that was the time my father took one day from school to home, if we arrived a little later, the beating was sure. (The beating was for my brother, not for me).

Arriving immediately to take off the uniform, take a bath for lunch (my older sisters helped my mother with the food and cleaning of the house), there was no maid, for that we were enough women at home, -said my dad-..

Then to do the chores with the help of the older brothers. We had only one television and it was in the living room, the time to watch a program called "EL CHAVO DEL 8" was from 4 to 5 in the afternoon, then my older sisters could watch any program or soap opera but before my father came home from work.

He used to say that this TV set was to stunt our minds, and if by chance he got it turned on because of our carelessness, that beating was also for sure. My father always had a very bad temper, he would get upset about everything and would often hit my siblings (that marked my life), he never hit me, but he hit my siblings and my mother many times. It wasn't only my father, my friends and neighbors' parents were like that, they would hit their children for anything and to scold them, of course not to justify it, but I think it was a matter of that time.

Well, excuse me for having gone a little off topic, but doing this retrospection that came to my mind (I can never forget it).

We were not allowed to go out to the street to play with friends, only on weekends, for that we had colorful parrots made by my brothers, metras, perinolas. Gurrufie, spinning tops and yoyos; those were our traditional toys, besides we played: la ere, el escondido, pisé, la gallinita ciega, among other children's games of the time.

We always had a schedule. But in spite of everything we were happy and very healthy.

We were always very naive, when I was 15 years old a friend told me about the baby Jesus, I did not believe her, until that age I was receiving gifts from the baby Jesus, ¿what do you think?, hahaha.

In the afternoons the ice cream man would pass by, announcing himself with a bell and at the same time shouting "The ice cream man is here " I never forget a creamy ice cream in the shape of a cylinder, my mother would give me a lot to buy one and the ice cream man would give me change.

I also remember that when a man called the grinder passed by, (he grinded knives and scissors) my sisters and my mom would run to get a notebook or any book and put it on their heads for good luck and to call money, hahaha. I just watched quietly, but I didn't understand anything, hahaha.

Nowadays I don't see that mistreatment of children anymore (at least in my family), the traditional games have been lost and children buy a tablet or a cell phone at birth to watch games and cartoons. There are more extracurricular activities, such as dance, karate, flamenco, ballet, among others.

I could spend hours writing, but here I leave you with this summary of my life in the 70s. Grateful for reading, I hope the participation of @viceroyklayd to enjoy those past years of his life..

The templates were made in canva in its free version.
