Craving for Myanmar food , thanks friend for letting me join the food frenzy

It was funny that I directly agreed with David, a friend of mine who came from Myanmar to join them for a picnic at East Coast Beach, Singapore, after class. It was actually not about the picnic, but when they say Wayan, who was another friend of mine, will cock the Myanmar food, that makes me say yes to it.

As we have agreed, I will be directly joining them after the class. I feel bad for them because I made them wait for me for about 30 minutes because I was helping the low-marking student after our study today.

After I was done helping the low-mark student, I joined them to go back to their hostel. It was actually my first time going to the school hostel. To be honest, I was shocked because their room was very poorly managed when their rent for the hostel was very high. Most of their room has two double-decker bunkers, and if you are not lucky, the room will have three double-decker bunkers, which means there are six people sharing the room.

Let's do some math here. For a four-person stay in the same room, give the management 2000 SG, while for my place, which has the queen mattress, it only costs 1000 SG, which was already comfortable for us to stay here. I ask them why they didn't just leave those hostels and find another place because they could get a better room for the same amount of money. But I guess they already signed the agreement to stay there for 6 months. Personally, I'll send at least a letter to the Ministry of Education reporting on this situation. But I'm only visiting them and not staying with them. I hope they can be patient for two more months to void the agreement.

While waiting for Wayan to cook the food, I waited and chatted with them about a lot of things just to kill time. After 1 hour plus, the food is already ready, and we walk to the beach. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the beach from the hostel. It was a good time to exercise before having the Myanmar food.

I was so happy to feel the beach breeze. I think the last time I went to the beach was years ago, before I went to Singapore for further study. We make the camp together before we enjoy the food.

I was really craving their hometown specialty food, and I can confirm that it was really their local specialty because I knew the taste when I was travelling to their place before the pendamic. Thanks God , that i was once again taste their food. Trust me, that food is only available in Myanmar, or maybe it exists in places where I didn't know.

The food was really good, and I enjoyed myself eating it. We finish everything: the rice, the chicken, and some of their local specialties, which I already forgot their names for, but I believe it was the taste that I had tried before.

After the food, we start playing poker. Once again, their poker style was very different. I have to study before I know how to play it. After some demonstration, I can be proud to say that I have learned how to play it.

We ended up playing it until night. Of course, while we were playing poker, I went out to run, jump, and smell the air. Again, I thank them for accepting me as their friend.

We end our journey late at night. They were still enjoying the night there, but I said that I needed to go back early because I was afraid there would be no public transport after 10 and that a Singapore taxi or Grab was very expensive. I reached home after 1 hour and 45 minutes. I feel a little bit tired, but I guess I need to post something today.

I hope you enjoy my journey with them today. Thanks for stopping by; I really appreciate that. I hope to see my next journey in my future posts.
