So many people are making their speculations about the upcoming Legendary Summoners that I thought I'd jump in and play along too!
We Have Rats
Have you ever noticed all the rats around here? Last fall, a handful of rodents moved in and by January, just as rats do, they'd multiplied.
So where did all these things come from and, more importantly, are there more coming? Arranging the lore of Venari Reward cards will help us shed a little more light on this mysterious race.
Venari Crystalsmith
Banished from Below 1 of 5 - There are many civilizations on the Planet whose existence has always gone unknown in the Splinterlands. Some of them are part of distant continents, with whom the Splinterlands became disconnected centuries ago, long before the great Splintering. Others reside under the deep water of the Outer Ocean, similar to the way merfolk thrive in the Water Splinter of ΛZMΛRÉ. Still, when considering all the people of the world, it is always easy to overlook those who dwell under the ground. For a round Planet as large as this one, there is nearly endless three-dimensional space beneath the surface, and much of that space is inhabited.
At the center of the Planet, there is a living core, believed to be made of molten rock. This core engine is the origin of all mana and magical power on and around the Planet. From the core, mana arteries extend upward toward the surface and emerge as mana flows, springs and fountains on every part of the Planet.
Venari Seedsmith
Banished from Below 2 of 5 - Outside the boundaries of the core engine, there is an open space of densely concentrated power. This is known as the Power Depths. Several types of creatures live here, including the mole-like scavo people and the antoids. These races use the Planet’s natural internal power to live luxurious lives safely within the Planet’s cocoon, and few among them are even aware of life on the Planet’s surface.
Beyond the Power Depths is an even larger area known as the Strite. Among Splintral experts that know of its existence, the Strite is often referred to as the Dream Splinter. Laws of physics do not always hold true in this realm of dreams, where the power of the Planet can create illusions and impossible-to-describe wonders. Beyond the Dream Splinter and one step closer to the Planet’s surface is the Underworld. Almost all Splinterlands experience with the underground comes from their dealings with those from the Underworld, which can be easily accessed through certain caves throughout the Splinterlands. Many parts of the caves beneath Molten Mountain lead to the Underworld, as do openings on the surface of the Raysco Mountains of Mortis. The most famous of these openings is the mouth of Monster Mountain and its Dread Hall, wide enough for a marching army in formation.
Venari Wavesmith
Banished from Below 3 of 5 - A massive race of rat-like people called venari have lived in the Strite for thousands of years. They are skilled technicians and mechanics who can make advanced devices and tools the likes of which Splinterlanders have never seen. The venari control powerful forms of magic that they have synthesized from the minerals and mana flows of the Strite. Through their complex field of science called smithing, they have been able to create and recreate many types of natural and magical phenomena from any magical element.
Venari Bonesmith
Banished from below 4 of 5 - Over the past several decades, there has been a bitter feud between the venari people and the Dream Warden, who rules the Underworld realm. The Dream Warden collects the bodies and souls of dream criminals from all over the world, confining them in an elaborate prison of illusions that resembles a dream. When the Dream Warden’s territory became overfull of prisoners, he began expanding into the Strite and interfering with the daily lives of the venari. The venari are fighters and not the type to be bullied, so they resisted the loss of their valuable land.
For nearly 30 years, an underground war took place between the Dream Warden’s nightmare forces and the venari people from below. The Dream Warden was ultimately victorious, but he had to sacrifice the captivity of every one of his prisoners to find that victory. All in a moment, he released their minds and bodies, but not before implanting a single thought into their waking consciousnesses: The venari must be banished to the surface.
In an overwhelming flood of the most ruthless maniacal prisoners in the Planet’s history, the entire venari race was run out of the Strite last year. Hundreds of thousands of venari refugees marched through the open gate of Monster Mountain into a new world. They carried very little in terms of possessions, but they had protected the venari tech that allowed them to harness the magical powers of the Planet.
Venari Heatsmith
Banished from Below 5 of 5 - The venari fell upon the Dark Eternal city of Galzur one dark night. There was miraculously no bloodshed that night. The Dark Eternals watched in profound confusion as a huge wave of small rat-like creatures stole supplies, weapons and ships, then vanished into the Primordic Sea.
It has not taken long for the venari to spread themselves throughout the Splinters, becoming involved in politics and power struggles. They have best fit in wherever their tech is found most useful, and wherever they can be paid handsomely for their assistance. A large group of venari has made friends with the goblins of Gobson, while others have settled in the Burning Lands. Some stayed behind in Mortis, where they have already proven helpful as allies to the Lord of Darkness. Now that they live on the surface, the venari must share the incoming threat of the Chaos Legion, vowing to use every tool and skill at their disposal to protect their home.
So then Chaos Legion comes along and drops some MORE Venari monsters on us! So far, all of the Venari have been pretty awesome, so let's see what these other ones are all about and then we'll get to the prediction!
Venari Knifer
Venari Knifers are specialized rogues, assassins, and thieves that make their living through shadier dealings in the Realm of Silence underneath Praetoria. They often work as part of criminal organizations or guilds, taking on contracts to put more gold in their pockets. When the Chaos Legion's agents came to Praetoria, many Venari Knifers saw them as new benefactors for their mercenary work. Using the tunnels that run beneath the surface world, the Knifers move like shadows in the night to strike at their opponents.
Like the rest of their kin, Knifers are masters of tools and technology. They've used their knowledge to perfect the Knifer Rig. A deadly weapon powered by magic and pneumatics, Knifer Rigs consist of six fully articulated blades and rods carried on the back. When not in use, they fold away neatly and unobtrusively. When employed, however, they are silent, speedy, and absolutely deadly.
Venari Scout
Venari Scouts are stealthy, silent, and dangerous. They are often dispatched alone or in small groups to spy, assassinate, or sabotage. Little else is known of these elite, secretive creatures.
Venari Spellsmith
There are those who may think the Realm of Silence is a place of deep dark caverns. That could not be further from the truth. It is a region like any other in the Splinterlands that is full of homes, cities, and cultures. There are even universities that specialize in the study of magic, music, and geography. One such underground species that excels in academia are the Venari.
They created the Institute of Application that acts as a center of study for spells and tinkering. Those who wish to become fluent in spellcasting train to become Spellsmiths: masters of creating and using spells. It is through this knowledge they research and experiment with magic in order to unlock new ways to harness mana and the elemental forces.
A Venari Spellsmith is so dedicated to the art of spellcasting that magic itself became a part of them. While they themselves can manipulate magic to damage foes, magic burns through their veins. Upon death the radiating Mana explodes from their bodies, harming everyone around the Venari.
Speculation
It's important to remember that speculations are nothing more than guesses so it's best to just have fun with them. That said, I'd like to introduce you to your next legendary summoner for the Fire Splinter, Venari Willsmith.
Venari Willsmith gives +2 Melee to all of your Melee monsters for that extra thump(!), +1 Speed to all of your monsters so they never see it coming, AND all of your monsters are going to deal double damage to enemy monsters with no attacks!
