You know what they say, that it is small things that bring joy in life and I couldn't agree more. Big joys are great and welcome, but what life would be without small pleasures? I think we have always needed to hear some good news, now, we are close to desperate for some good news. Some joy please and keep it coming as much as possible.
Something small and incredibly beautiful happened this morning, when a friend knocked the door and shouted that she has a letter for us that will make us happy. First thing that came to mind was that the electricity bill has come and she is making fun because in the last few months it has doubled and tripled and doesn't seem to stop going up, so it has become a kind of joke to sweeten the bitterness :)
But she was right, she came with the most unexpected and sweet surprise. A New Year card all the way from Arizona made it to our small village! Our dear friend, sweet @sjarvie5, had sent us a surprise card that became even a bigger surprise 4 months later. I guess for you too Sara, reading this post now! Well Sara, it is here! And it is the sweetest card ever!
6 DECEMBER 2021 - 4 APRIL 2022
It is not new that from time to time we have unbelievable delays due to the post office, but there is a mystery here. The card apart from Sara's handwritten message, also had another smaller message signed by the postwoman. Do you know many post officers that would write their wishes on another's card? We found it hilarious.
And this made us think that this card could have been delivered on time, but either got misplaced in the office, car, bag of the postwoman or she couldn't find us and left it at the mini market of our village where they couldn't read our names in English to inform us till our friend saw it under the big pack of other letters that stay untouched for months (till summer visitors will come again and deliver the whole year's mail).
Whatever the reason is, what we know is that it gave us so much joy receiving this card. Grateful once again to HIVE for coming in contact with some amazingly kind people. Sara, you are a sweet kind soul and we THANK YOU so much!!!
Surprises make life more spicy and friends make it more beautiful!
A bit earlier, we received some plants that we expected for a while now. Blueberries, amongst others, that I love and decided to experiment on growing them. Not the most ideal place for blueberries here, have never seen a single plant around, but part of the joy of gardening is experimenting, observing and trying again, even if you fail. The plants are beautiful and have just started to unfold their new leaves, waking up in a brand new environment, hopefully a quite friendly one.
So, we have a rather unconventional "tree" to put our card :)
Good friends, plants and a very special card. This is an awesome day!
