He had taken a stroll that night when the moon was at it's peak. He couldn't get his mind to concentrate on the books he came out to read that night.
"I'll just be gone for twenty minutes, I need to clear my head", he told his colleagues as he stepped out.
Reading at home wasn't an option, there were so many things on his mind. He told himself that reading in school would be possible because if he saw other people doing it too. Something was off, maybe it was the fact that he had just lost his phone or the headache he couldn't seem to get rid of.
"Make sure you come back on time, we have a lot to cover", someone replied.
He took a stroll down the main roads on campus trying to avoid the dark corners, he heard stories of people getting robbed but had never been a victim himself. Besides, he didn't have anything of value they could take.
The school was totally different from its morning counterpart. The street lights hit the trees at a certain angle to create different patterns on the floor, almost seemed like the was walking on clouds. He reached a certain point and decided it was time to get some reading done when he heard someone singing from a corner.
She had a lovely voice, one of the best he heard in a long time.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you but you sing very beautifully"
"Thank you, I came hear because I didn't want to disturb anybody reading, I hope I didn't disturb you"
"No, I was taking a stroll to clear my head before I go back to read. Do you mind if I sit and listen for a while?"
"I don't know if I'll be able to sing while you're here, I get shy sometimes"
"Oh, I can leave if you want me to"
"It's okay"
She went on singing with the voice of an angel while he sat there in awe. She was pretty too, a fine voice with a pretty face, a match made in heaven. He forgot he had exams to read for until a bird flew by and gave them both a scare.
"I could sit here and listen to you sing all night but I don't have the time, I still need to read"
His felt light, the pain in his head had stopped like her voice took it with it as it went with the wind. Never before had music done anything like this to him before.
"I would've gotten your number but I lost my phone recently."
"I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm here almost every night, you could always stop by if you're not doing anything"
" I definitely will"
He took a quick glance towards the direction he came from.
"My name is Treasure, what's ......."
He stared back at her direction but she had vanished, almost like the wind took her. He was definitely going to go back there the next day.
"I'll call her mystery girl until I know her name", he said as he walked back to his reading hall, his stroll was not a waste and he was set to do some reading.
This is my story and was written in third person.
