The season before this, I racked up a total of 7 points. When there were less than 24 hours left of this season, I was at 195 points. Exactly halfways to a reward chest.
- Thank you @sweetnjuicy for delegating a bunch of useful cards!
- Thanks to whoever it was suggested I rent a couple of level two summoners. That really helped make my few leveled up cards useful!
- Thanks to @ianballantine for randomly giving me a Djinn Oshannus half a year ago, long before I even had a spellbook! It has let me win a few more battles, keeping me from losing interest in the game.
And of course, thanks to all the people - too many to list - doing giveways of DEC and cards. It allows me to slowly replace the starter set with real cards, and sometimes get an odd card I'd never seen before!
Then, KAPOW! I was thinking of going to bed, giving up for the season, and @sweetnjuicy delegated some more cards. Some more? That's an understatement. I own about 6500 powers worth of cards, I think... with the awesome delegations I'm at 360k power! Until he needs them to put on his lands. So I skipped sleep and spent a couple of hours going through the cards and writing things down - what splinters I have most flying monsters in, what splinters to avoid if the ruleset demands only magic, and other things like that. Then I battled. And battled. And battled some more! And managed to reach exactly 390 season points for my first reward chest:

Now I'm having fun even when I lose, because I have access to enough cards to actually try things out and learn! And since I know this will not last forever - the monsters will need to go back home and work the lands soon - I take notes all the time so I will know what to rent and/or buy when that time comes.
